Hi everybody!

Well, I have been working with WordPress to design my new site. I had a bit of "dinking around" knowledge with WP, but this has been pretty interesting and exciting designing an actual soon-to-be live VA site of my own!

Usually I just do a site in X/HTML and CSS and I'm done, but I decided to go with WP for the neat features and plan to add a blog to it, too. Right now it is kind of a static site, not blog (I say 'kind of' because I edited some php code, and not sure yet if I did this right for when I want a blog link there).

Anyway, could you give me feedback on the logo in the header I created? I am not sure if I like the fonts I used for "SunRise" and "Virtual Solutions." I kind of like the "sun" I put in there and the shading and colors behind the logo in the header...but what do y'all think?

Also, to the right of my logo area, but still in the header, I am thinking about adding a volusion or other chat-type feature there. ? Not sure on placing this there.

I need to come up with a tagline, too.

Oy. So many things to do, and so little time to do them!

Please keep in mind that this is in the very, very beginnings of designing and in no way "finished."

Hi - love the site - it's different and love the font. Question - what is wordpress? Is that a soft ware program?

WordPress is GPL (free) blogging software. A description from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress:

Jules, you write so well, and you obviously know your stuff, but - since you asked - I really have to question why you have a brick wall as a background to such a name as SunRise? Don't the meanings of these two elements conflict? Y'know, a brick wall is an end, and a sunrise is a beginning ...

I do like the logo itself very much.

Hi Mary,

I was thinking about a tagline that would relate in some way to this referring to brick and mortar buildings that business owners have and mine signifies my "virtual brick and mortar" building...arg...I'm not explaining it very well.

Or the sun rising and reflecting off the outside of a brick and mortar building...

I get what you're saying.

I guess it was just my abstract way of thinking about it. Maybe if I add some sunlight it would "connect" better...hmmm. Or come up with a tagline that will tie it together.

Ya got me thinking!

Okay, I added some text to the header/logo area...does it make sense or sound really dumb? And if it doesn't sound too dumb, is everything centered okay? My eyes are burning from looking at this darn computer screen so long.

Hey, would you word what I have in the header/logo area differently? I'm not sure I'm conveying the message I want to get across...but, then again, I've probably looked at it too much tonight and the words just aren't coming.

I love the header/logo and think the text explains the brick & mortar perfectly. I love seeing something different!

Awesome! Thank you, Crystal! I try to think outside the box, so hopefully when I get done customizing this WordPress theme it will be unique. Then you'll hear me whining about wording for all the content.
