Smile Website review appreciated
Good day all,

I would really appreciate an honest review of my expanded website. I added pages and content (same core design as the last time I asked for a review).

Things like readability, relevancy (especially on my bio page), spelling or grammar errors, etc. are helpful. I've been looking at it for a week now and need some fresh eyes to review it. Also, it would be helpful to know if something is not showing correctly in a certain browser!

I am scheduled for three networking events in the next month and wanted to be sure my site is correct before I send everyone to it!

Perfecting Assistance Services

Thanks in advance!

Hi Delady,

I like your site. It's very clean, sharp and professional looking. I didn't see any spelling or typo errors, but I did notice the following:
on your Services and FAQ pages the fonts look different colors. Could be my eyes, but some are in black and others look brown.
On the Partnership page under the heading that says Our Clients are Great, when I read it, I don't get the impression you're talking about clients. It sounds more like you're referring to the needs of your company and how you wish to work. Which is okay, but from the heading it implies to me, that it's something to do with your existing clients, but doesn't sound like it from the wording. I'm certainly no English major maybe one of the VAs who are writers would have better suggestions.

Anyway, just my observations.
Cheers,

Hi Lahesha,

I've had not read your content before your updates so I just reviewed all pages.

A couple of things to update.
Partnership Expectations page - In the request to join mailing list, alter recieve to receive (most of the time the rhyme "i before e except after c" applies)

Services page - Stationary / Letterhead. Change the Stationary to Stationery. (I used to get these ones mixed up all the time until I thought of Envelopes beginning with an E being the Stationery with an "e" and Stationary meaning motionless/still)

Special Offers Page - Alter the linked "Service" to "Services".

Other suggestions to consider
I'd move the "now accepting paypal" box up with your rates instead of within the service list. (More relevant to the rates)
In FAQ's, For "How is payment for Services Received" put a space between "A:" and "We accept ..." to be consistent with the other questions.

Hope some of this is useful. Good luck with your meetings.

I would like to suggest that you optimize your site for the search engines. It will help your rankings and it’s a waste of your site's “real estate” if you don’t. It should be part of putting your site together, just like the page content. The easiest way to do this on your site is to label your title tags in conjunction with the keywords on a given page. So, on your home page: Virtual Administrative Services for Solo and Small Business, Perfecting Assistance Services. Then you do the same thing with different keyword phrases on the next page. Choose a keyword phrase relative to each page and put the same phrase in the title tag for that page. Also, put your city and state in there too. That will help with people who are looking for local VAs. Since most VAs don't do this, you'll be ahead of them. Just don't do it in every title. One or 2 different keyword phrases for each new title tag. And remember, it will take time but you will gradually see your site ranking higher as time goes on. It's very exciting!

It's not necessary to put your company name in the title but if you do it’s best to put your full company name and not a short form. The search engines will index your site based on the information you provide. If you put PAS in your title tags, the search engines will index that. Clients will need to search for PAS if they want to find you easily. If that's what you want then that's fine, otherwise spell it all out. Also, put your company name at the end of your tags and the pertinent information about what you offer at the beginning of the title. Search engines and browsers truncate your titles at about 60-70 characters. (depending on the se and browser) You want the important information to be at the front.

I love the colours on your site.

Woohoo! Shari, you're turning into quite the SEO guru!!

You've rec'd some great replies here - I'm not sure there's much I can add - I will say I really like that you included a photo of yourself in the site. It's a really nice photo and not only looks professional but gives a sense of honesty and ease.

It's also really neat that you've got the Join Our Team page - that is such a great way to grow your business and the way you've set that up with requirements listed, etc. is a smart move. I'll be interested to hear more from you about how often and what sorts of replies you rec'v via that page.

For the Partnership Expectations page - maybe rewording the link text itself and the page content so it's more client-friendly (I think this was mentioned already).

Great job and congrats on so much progress!!

Absolutely wonderful!

I never would have caught the things you gals mentioned. THANK YOU!

Lisa - I changed the color differences on the Services page (some were bold and the others weren't), but I couldn't see the different colors on the FAQs page, they were all the same on my view...what browser are you using? Thanks!

Michelle - I really appreciate your detailed review...changes have been made. Thanks!

Shari - and here I was thinking that I did a decent job with the SEO...although all I did was copy and paste an entire list (of virtual assistance variations) into my Keyword metatags and used my business mission for the description metatag - for ALL of my pages. I'll make sure I apply your suggestions to it in the days to come. Thanks!

Tess - Thanks for the compliment, I was really hesitant about putting my picture up, but I figured it's a traditional practice in this Industry, so I gave in. I actually had one of my former co-workers approach me about joining me in the business, so I did some research on it and wanted to present something that would be more thought out, other than just telling her "Sure, come on!". I'll let you know how it goes with other inquiries. Thanks!

Again, thanks all for the reviews

Hi,

I really like your site and agree with everyone comments above. I am not sure if it is just my browser but on your Join our team page and contact us page, your forms are off the page. Meaning that I wouldn't be able to fill in the information because I can't click on the submit button or whatever your button is called at the end of your forms?

Overall, great site!!

Nice looking site - love your choice of images. Well done. I'd increase your keywords and description a bit more and remove the word 'home' from your page title. But otherwise, from what I saw, looked great.
