Smile Website In Final Stages Need Feedback
This is it! I am taking a deep breath before I officially launch and need honest feedback about the website. I would not say that it fully shows my creative prowess (it's Office Live Basic, work with me here), but I hope it gets the message across. I cross-posted to the Office Live Users forum and one person had an issue with the sub-navigation buttons pertaining to the About RAS section, so I would especially like to have your input on that.

I have no meta tags or keywords installed yet, as I want to make sure I have all the bugs out before I launch.

Thanks to all!

Lisa

There are several things.. Hamid created a code for us so we don't have to post our email address.. I would check the forum for that.. I don't know where it is off hand...

I was wondering why you put that about the IVAA on the front page.. I got confused when I was reading it.. If this was your business' rules or was what it was..Had to check back to the to see it was about the IVAA..

I love the part about the RAAS... Great!!!!

I think the site is great.. I know Tessa and Hamid can give better feedback than me. I am just a fellow VA

Thanks Jackie!

That was another thing I wanted to mention was the IVAA Code of Ethics. I firmly belive in them and am a member of IVAA. But frankly, unsure about the copyright issues, even though I did cite the source and added a link to the site.

Maybe if I reworded it, "Remote Admin Services Abides By A Strict Code of Ethics As Stated From the International Virtual Assistants Association."

One third party feedback that I got from a former work colleage of mine said that she really likes the ethics disclaimer as she felt more comfortable in pursuing more information at the site.

I will have to do some digging for that code. Let's hope that OL allows me to use it.

O.k. - comments! Be careful what you ask for I have placed my narrative in Blue, items I think you should delete in Plum, and rewords/typos in Red.

Virtual Administrative Help Is Just A Click Away!

Because I have old eyes, I use the Ctrl+ function in Mozilla to enlarge the screen that I am reading. In your first paragraph, the word We is separated from the rest of the sentence "This is where a Virtual Assistant can be of great benefit. We take the administrative tasks out of your..." Check for a hard return in the html after We.

"We highly recommend perusing the "About RAS" section of this site."

After 20+ years in the administrative field, including 7 years in (hard return here, as well) pharamceuticals, Ms. George (typo) I'm not sure why you are specifically listing pharmaceuticals unless you are nicheing to them?

Mainly, the success of (hard return) one's business.

RAS is fully capable to connect of connecting with clients worldwide to provide high quality service as if your assistant was right outside your office door.

RAS is home-based. This makes you sound like an at-home mom, not a business person. I would encourage rewording to "an independent office" or some such...

In the event that a particular piece of equipment or software needs to be purchased in order to to attain your goals, we can do so.Ouch! This could force you into buying equipment/software for a single client's use - potentially VERY EXPENSIVE equipment/software. I would eliminate this idea and, if the needed equipment/software is multi-use, buy it w/out informing the client. If it is for THEIR project only, I would require THEM to provide the equipment/software.

As stated before, RAS is home-based. Ditto.

"If you have not used outside administrative help due to cost"

The dark color of the bottom box of the calculator is hard to read - maybe make it the same as the top box?

Whether it is nor not, take the next step

However a VA works remotely from their own offices and is are fully connected using Internet- based technology, telephone, and fax.

Depending on the scope of the work, you will receive an invoice either at the end of the project or monthly.

If it appears that going over the discounted rate is an ongoing issue, the contract may be renegotiated. (What is the discount?)

In the event the Remote Admin Services is unavailable

Payment is still made to Remote Admin Services, not the sub-contractor,<- unless otherwise noted in writing.

Most likely that If you need it, RAS can handle do it!

I would take out the table of software offered and let them assume you have it all - this ties in w/not purchasing client-specific software

please fill out the below contact form below.

There appears to be a tab between Tel: and +1

Wow! Many thanks OG! When you work into the wee hours of the morning it's the little errors that comes out of the woodwork. Always good to have 2/3/4 pairs of eyes to see from every angle. Just my luck that my 'editor' is in Spain until the end of the month.

That tab issue around the phone numbers as it turns out came from my Skype program in IE. It would scout out all phone numbers on a page and add their auto dial icon, which knocked the formatting helter-skelter.

I'll try your suggested revisions and let you know when it's ready.

Thanks!

OK, I made all the necessary changes per the current feedback.

The apparent hard returns do not show on the template, but I did double check. I also changed the FAQ text to a dark green tone to make it easier to read and changed the color of the lower box for the calculator.

Keep 'em coming! I really appreciate all the help.

Looks good! Just a few comments:

I still don't like "Most likely that RAS can handle it!" Poor grammar

"If you would like to know if Virtual Assistance will work for your business, please fill out the contact form below. Consultation is free! Please provide a brief description of your business, services or projects that you would like have done and the best time to call." I would reword it and take out one "please" as it is redundant.

O.k. - I'm done!

Hi Lisa-- I think you should have the sub-navi buttons on all the pages- its easier for navigation and you don't want potential clients to miss such great info.

I also noticed that when I clicked on the article links on the about page, I was taken away from your website, change the settings for the links to open in a new window.

You did a great job on your site.

The templete does not allow for me to put the sub-nav buttons on every page, so I would either have to create duplicate pages or put the buttons in the main menu-->which I might have to resort.

I did want to set the links to open a new window, I will delve futher to see if OL can do this.

As soon as this project is finished, I'm going back to Dreamweaver!
