Default Website any good?
Hi all

I've spent the last week working on my website, built it in iWeb and published it yesterday. I'm a little confused about browser compatibility - it seems that it looks different in each browser, even in different versions of IE.

I would be so grateful if anyone could have a quick browse through the site and let me know their feedback. Still working on the catchy copy - and I also want to emphasise more the fact that I want to work internationally.

Thanks for your time!

And here's the link: www.paperclipfox.com

First off, your home page: If I pulled this up and was using a different browser I would not even continue. Since there is no content there other than the picture and the browser capabilities I have no idea what it is you do and how you can help me. This should be your welcome page with a small note at the bottom that better viewed in "browser names"

Not sure I like all the graphics on the Welcome page, kind of distracting from the message.

I do like the use of white space, how clean and basic everything is. I love the map and clock on the contact page. This is great idea.

Other than that, you site seems to be fine in Chrome and I had nothing that look askew or out of place.

I agree with Lee--the home page isn't something I would display your logo only on...the 'enter here' on the home page is passe--I would have your home page give a short description of what it is that you do. Especially if you want to offere services internationally.

You are correct--your web page doesn't display properly in IE 6.0. I think once you get those issues resolved, you're well on your way to being able to launch a successful site! Best wishes and good luck!

Hi KC Fox,

Here's my two cents worth.

Home Page:
Usually the main graphic is also a link to enter but I didn’t see anything to this effect

Welcome Page:
I agree with Lee and Kathya regarding the graphics on the welcome page. They seemed a bit distracting and didn’t necessarily seem all that associated with the site. Plus they are taking up valuable real estate on the page.

Philosophy Page:
The bullet items don’t grammatically go with the lead in line
I really liked the “our Clients” line

Solutions Page:
I liked this page (agree with Lee again re white space and cleanliness) although I think the photo is, again, taking up valuable real estate on the page and think it may work better to one side or at least smaller.

Rates Page:
I like this page and I like that the text (the important info) is right where the eye falls when the page loads. The photo below the information works for me.

Contact Page:
Like that you have a real time map. This is very useful and doesn’t force the client to play the “what time is it where” game.

Firefox – bottom line contact info wraps the last 4 digits of the phone number
Chrome – menu wraps the ‘contact’ page to a second line
IE 8 – menu wraps the ‘contact’ page to a second line

Firefox 3.5.2
Google Chrome 2.0.172.39
Internet Explorer 8 (8.0.6001.18702)

Thank you for all your valuable feedback. I will work on the site a bit more tonight. Does anyone have an idea on how to work my way around the browser compatibility issue?
