Default Some input please...
So I got my website put together and I was hoping to get a little bit of input on it. I had some people say that it is too simple, but I am not sure that I want it really busy either. So I'd love it if some of you could give me some honest feedback.

Imagine It Your Virtual Office Assistant

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Hi Jaidi,

I took a look at your home page and thought to myself, "She is not really providing a solution to my business problems." So if I was a business owner looking for a VA to help me with my business, I do not see anything on the page except for the definition of what a VA is/does.

So my suggestion is to rework the home page text with information that would give a business owner reason to want to read more about you and the services you provide.

I also want to address your rates page...it is my opinion that you are too low. And although we do not address rates specifically here on the forums for obvious reasons, at the rate you have posted, I think it sells your services short.

After you pay taxes and expenses, it doesn't look like there will be much more left for you to invest back into the business or wherever you plan to spend your profits.

And you don't want to appear 'cheap' either because I am sure your experience and skills are worth more than you are posting. (Unless you have a reason for that rate, but I do not know.)

Janine,

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it!

I thought I would mention that I hadn't realized until recently that VA's charged the rates that they did. I have been working for one individual and she has been paying my the same rate for 4 years. But I have updated my website (obviously since you saw it) to include a note that it is an introductory rate and will be changing soon.

I really appreciate your input on my home page. It hadn't occurred to me to include more about what I can help them with. Thanks again!

Hi Jaidi,

I wish to mention that if you charge an introductory rate and then change it later you may have issues with retaining clients. Please consider invoicing a rate that you can continually charge until such time you raise your rates.

I also see that you offer a pay-as-you go without a minimum number of hours worked. It has been my experience that if I do not have a min commitment with a client I cannot plan my days properly nor can I budget expenses properly. By including a required min amount of time worked you are guaranteed the time and the client is guaranteed that you can give them this time. They often like to hear that... "I have blocked 2 hours for you today."

This is a great category to review about Policy and Procedures http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...ies-procedures as well as this category regarding Billing and Invoicing http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...ling-invoicing

Maybe its the gray background that it making it look plain? Your content area looks good, but I see why others might think its "plain".
