Default Should we add Pookie the Business Guide Dog to our site?
OK, I know it's not the Gecko but I'm trying to get a character that is associated with my web site and came up with Pookie the Business Guide Dog.

If you've heard my radio adverts you'll know that Pookie has a yippie dog bark so I thought it would be funny for him to actually be a big dog.

I'd appreciate feedback on our web site. Look at the Treasure Hunt and A Little Bit Better.

How do they compare to Decision Making which is currently a Pookie free zone.

I also intend to make Pookie animated and he will speak with an English accent (my own!)

Cheap gimmick or something that people would want to relate to and come back for more?

The idea is to have free content that keeps people coming back and then eventually Business Cornerstone Services will be in their minds for all things business support.

Feedback appreciated.

Hi Wendy & Ian,
I looked at your website and at the two exercises. I don't see how Pookie adds any value. It doesn't bother me, but it doesn't make me go "WOW", either.

i like the rest of your website a lot and you certainly seem professional and trustworthy, so in my humble opinion, Pookie isn't necessary.

I have to agree with Hilde regarding Pookie.

Unless you have the means to really get Pookie out there (national TV, print, etc.), it really can never be ingrained into the minds of the user out there as a real brand. Sorry!

Hello, anything "animal" related -whether animated or real - will catch my attention so believed I would have really positive feedback for you regarding Pookie. I must say I too really like your website which is clean, informative and can I'm sure hold potential clients. However, I too couldn't (as much as I tried) see any real added value from Pookie, at this stage anyway. Given time and more exposure and more involvement from Pookie I don't see why he can't become the "character" associated with your site. I'm sure I'm not the only person to cling onto a character they see and associate it with a particular service.

I agree that I just do not see the added value. I get where you are coming from but it seems more cartoonish then needed. The information you have there is great but I am not a fan of Pookie.

Thanks for the honest replies folks - I'm sorry to say that it looks like Pookie has run away from home and is probably living on a farm now. I'm sure he will be very happy with his new owners.

Maybe when our company gets as big as Geico I'll be able to afford to bring him back...
