Default Round 1
I have my 1st round of my website up. I am having a problem with the .jpg showing up and I will fix that. But I want to know what the other stuff looks like to others. This is my 1st attempt at doing one from scratch, so please give it to me honest!

THANKS!!

Cherish,

Didn't get a chance to look at all of it. Like the colors and the layout.

My comment would be to shorten the list of services you provide. You could put them in categories and then list only the categories.

Two of my reasons: (1) The list is too lengthy for me to check out; (2) it looks like you've written the copy in a thinking mode (here's what I can provide) and wrote it all down. I don't read it as a list of what the potential client would be seeking. Example: You talk about setting up tables in EXCEL when you might consider a broad category of Data Management. (hope that makes sense.)

You've done good!

I really like the colors too! I think that on your "Why Hire a VA" page ~ the bottom part which has the "money breakdown" may stand out more if you have it in a table or maybe just a box around the information. Something to bring your attention to that part of the page. That's just my opinion!!! But, I think it looks great!! Way to go!

Hi Cherish, good job on your site! I really love the color scheme. It flows nicely, and your menu structure works for me. You have a sidebar of sorts where--on the home page--your logo will be, but I'm wondering why you didn't carry that over to all the pages? I find it helps with continuity if you do.

One thing you might run into problems with is the spaces in your urls. I've honestly never seen that before, didn't even know it was possible in fact. Someone with more knowledge than me can probably tell you why it's a no-no, but I'll just say you should consider replacing those spaces with hyphens.

I too like the color scheme, but I had a hard time seeing the name of your business at the top of the page. The black letters on the blue background were hard to read. Might just be old eyes looking at it, but you might want to try a different color. Try white letters and see what you think. It would definitely stand out better. I know you will be putting your logo on your website, so that might be enough, but for now I had trouble reading the name of the business.

Thanks EVERYONE!! I really appreciate all the advice! I love the suggestions!!! I was starting to go a little nuts with everything! I decided to take a break last week from it all. I spent last week doing a few other things. It does get very overwhelming.

Thanks again!!!

Just two little things from me. I think you need more contrast in the top of your page the "Have your own assistant" to me does not show up bright or bold enough, play around different font colors and see how that goes.

Also the reason we usually don't put spaces in the names of our webpages has to do with the way software reads code. For instance when you link to a page, once a space is encountered, that signals the end of the address. By convention we also used to only use lowercase letters in e-mail addresses but now most software can handle upper and lower case, same thing here. The browser is able to read your pages but this may not work in all browsers and that's why there is a usually way of doing things.

Hey,

I thought your website looked great! Good Job.

I personally thought the writing was slightly to small - I really had to concentrate to read it, maybe you could make it a point or two bigger. Other than that, as I say, I loved it

Cherish, I like your website as well. On your "About Me" page, is it possible to move the text over away from your photo. It appears to "bumping against the photo" if that makes sense. I also agree with others on shortening your list of services. Job well done.
