Default Revised my Site!
Hi fellow VA's!

I'm taking a deep breath and asking for some feedback on my recently updated website. I gave my site a much needed uplift this past weekend.

Whether it's a or a go back to the drawing board, I'd love to hear from whomever has the time to check my site out. All suggestions and comments are welcome.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!!!

Terri,

Overall, I think it is nicely done - I didn't see it before so can't compare.

I do feel that it is missing an About page. If I were a potential client I'd like to see a picture of you and learn more about your background before I considered engaging your services. Just my personal preference.

You are so right. I've been noticing how other VA sites do introduce themselves and write up a bio of some sorts. Thank you for this feedback. I also need to add the VA formum logo with link which was on my 1st site, and just simply forgot to include it.

Classy, clean, and neat. I love your logo. I also noticed that you don't have a website disclaimer. I would include one in the footer as a precautionary thing. I'm not sure that it would ever be necessary, but it's simple to add and why not if it might help you avoid being sued for something you posted on your site. Here's the link to mine if you don't know what I'm talking about. Mine is short and sweet and to the point, but I think it's effective and serves it's purpose.

Rhonda, Thank you for taking the time to look at my site and suggesting the website disclaimer. I hadn't even considered one. May I copy and use your wording making appropriate changes please?

Absolutely, it's just a generic disclaimer. Feel free to use it anyway you like.

Hi Terri! My suggestion may be a little complicated from a technical perspective: if you can integrate your blog into your website, I think that it will provide a more unified experience for the visitor and it will also help you in terms of SEO. As it is right now, you'll spend time adding new content to your blog, and so the search engines will notice that your blog gets updated frequently, but they won't relate the blog to your actual website where you sell your services. If they're together in the same site, then the SEO benefits will extend more readily to the rest of your site.

Hope you had a nice holiday!

Liz,

Okay, if I understand correctly, when a visitor clicks on blog instead of being taken off my site to a wordpress site, the blog would be set up as one of my web pages. Do I understand correctly?

Terri

Hi Terri,

Yes, you got it! You'd integrate the blog into your website so that the user has a seamless experience - they see it as if it were just another section of your website. The domain would be yours (it could be www.terripwilliams.com/blog, for example) and it would maintain the same design as the rest of your website.

I understand this could be difficult to accomplish from a technical perspective, so I think it's up to you to decide whether it'd be worth the hassle! Anyway, I hope it helps.

Liz
