Default Review my WEBSITE PLEASE!
Hi everyone,

I recently finished(I think) my website and love it if everyone could overlook and let me know what you think, I would love feedback, insights, pointers, suggestion....anything to make my website better and maybe even more appealing to potential clients!

Nekiwa,

Here are my first thoughts:

You are wasting valuable above the fold space. I would get rid of the image and move the copy up. I would also move your contact information to the top of the page. If I did not scroll down I would not know how to get in touch with you.

The other big thing I noticed is your page structure. For example your About page URL is http://optimal-admin.com/?page_id=9. You should change those so that instead of page id it is the page name. This can be done in the settings area of WP.

Your bullets are off on your rates page. The text does not coincide with the bullet point.

I did not check the copy just a quick scan of the structure.

Nekiwa,

Congratulations on getting your site up! You've come so far and that is commendable.

Like Lee, I feel the image is simply too large and you are not using 'above the fold' space to its full potential. This is the most valuable website real estate you will own so you want to make your message easy to read and understandable before people have to scroll down.

There is not enough information on the page to prompt people to want to look further. There is too much white space. You've not given me reason to want to look further. A client needs to see their problems in your pages and how you can provide solutions. Lee's website is a perfect example of how this space is used effectively.

I know you have worked hard on your header. I would suggest you make that smaller and thus move up the page so there is more text available.

You'll want to keep the font consistent throughout the website. On your Testimonial page can you provide links back to your clients' websites. I feel that linking those sites give the testimonials more credence.

I like your free download and I commend you on getting that together. I would move your social media icons up so people can connect with you.

You've got a good grasp on the menu items.

Work on your text. Phrases like "...work, go or turn" could be stated better.

Remove the header in the middle of the page and use that space to market your business. You already have the header at the top of the page; no need to place it in the center again.

Nice photo of you in the Cvita area but you don't need to say 'contact me using Cvita'. Just say 'contact me for a free 15 minute consultation' or for something useful like a free 'evaluation of your current bookkeeping options'. People won't contact you unless you tell them why they should contact you.

Please don't be discouraged. Websites are always a work in progress. A good way to know what to write is to look at other people's sites. Check out copywriter's sites too to see how they form the message.

You are well on your way to having a great website!

Janine

HI Janine,

I've made some of the changes that you've suggested above...how does it look now?
