I created mine through Windows Live Office, using their templates. Most of the images I got from Stock.XCHNG.

Hey Margie. I like it all lower case. That's a style I've seen before and have always liked. You'll not please everyone on issues of "style" - that's for sure. Best to go with whatever style that conveys what you want it to say. Deb

nice website. I would check 'services' page. There is a misspelling in the first sentence.
The word 'following' needs to be corrected.

It looks good, Margie. I like the colors and I'm glad you added some images. I agree that a logo would really make it great and help tie in for branding purposes.

A couple of things that you might want to consider:

The pages should have title that include your business name. For example your home page shouldn't just come up as "Home" in the title bar at the top of the browser. It should be something like "mg virtual solutions:: Home" and so forth for your other pages. This will help with SEO...which you should also check out the forum's SEO section for some ideas on optimizing the site for getting picked up with the search engines.

My only other comment was about the first page where you list the Benefits of a Virtual Assistant...(and this is just my personal preference) but I think it's a good idea to always capitalize Virtual Assistant. I do this even in my emails with clients and potential clients. It just seems to make it sound more like a professional title. Again, that's just my own preference.

I'd also recommend fixing the spacing for the calculator to be centered under the title. At least on my screen it's not. Maybe that's different on other sized screens.

Have you tested it to make sure it works in IE, Firefox and probably Opera. But at least the first two for sure.

Thank you all for your comments. Dejam, thanks for the support on using lower case on the name. I agree with you, I like it that way. Kimberly, thank you for your comments. Still working on a logo.

I definitely like the lower case in the name. It's not something you see very often and will help you to stand out. Very nice layout on the website.

Hi Margie -

I know I'm chiming in quite late on this...but I really like your site. The layout and flow is really nice! I also love the colors. Crisp & clean and very professional!

I do want to point out one little typo that jumped off the page at me. Under Event Planning the word "compile" in "compile invitations" is mispelled. Also - I wonder if you want to tie a person's referral of your services to a discount - and especially saying that it has to lead to a signed contract from someone else.

Probably just me - but my initial reaction is that if you do a good job I'd be happy to just give you a referral and you don't have to bribe me (sorry for the strong word - but I'm just putting myself in other people's shoes for a moment). Then from a potential client's point of view - if I see that you felt you have to offer a discount then I wonder why you need to incent people to help you out. If you've done your job and built a good relationship as well (which is a primary goal we usually have) - then it should be a natural thing for them to do.

Just my 2 cents.

Pam

Nice, clean site. Easy to read. I belive someone mentioned to add more graphics to yoru site and I do not suggest having a lot of images on your site because it slows down the pages from uploading/downloading and should their be a viewer on a slow connection they won't bother waiting around for it. Logo's are a great idea to brand yourself however not everyone uses logos and use their picture instead.

I would change the what can a VA do for you to what you can do for the client. This will catch their attention and make it feel like you are talking to them. Let them know why you stand above the rest. Don't forget to give a call to action.

I acutally think asking for referrals is a great idea and I also do that. Referrals are based on 90% of your business. Most clients like to have an incentive to pass your name around. The benefits of an incentive is as follows:

Incentive:
Client passes your name around without waiting for someone to ask for the info. i.e. send an email to friends, family, acquaintances etc

No Incentive:
Client will pass your name around if someone asks for info and/or if "VA's is a topic in their conversation.

I would remove the search bar on top of your site. You don't want someone to navigate away from your site.

I would also make your logo link to your home page. Make it easier for your potential clients to get back home if they need to.
