Hi Sharon,

I like your website alot. I think it's very informative and very business like. The only thing I might add is that there seems to be an abundance of the same information repeated from page to page. i.e. alot of reading that someone might not take the time to do. But that is just my opinion and I could be way off base. I'm new to the VA business myself, so I'm not an expert in any way. (That's my disclaimer ; )

Overall it looks great and very clean.

Shellye

Thank you! I will take another look and see if anything can be condensed.

I agree with Shelley. I go by the KISS principle in these situations. Keep it to key points you want them to know. After a while of reading they will just switch off.

Good luck

Hi Sharon

Great Website. It is a great feeling to create something like this. I really like the look of your site.

I grew up in Newmarket, although I now live in Alix, Alberta. I also have a niece in Barrie.

Hello,

Just a couple of suggestions that come to mind when viewing your site.

1.) Are you one or many? You fluctuate between "I" and "We". If there are more employees beside yourself let them shine as well. If it's just you, don't be afraid to let people know up front.

2.) You have a sidebar that is unused. You may want to remove it and use all of the space for text.

3.) There's a lot of information about VA's and VA programs. While it is important to list your credentials and experience, you may not want to hint to potential clients that there are spots they can pick up a different VA. Make sure the logo means something to the client, not just an affiliation.

4.) Portfolio? If you indicate that design is a service you are offering you need to show that to the potential client. If you don't have a sample, make one up! Many people choose design services based on a certain look and feel.

5.) Website services. "Editing, adding or updating content on websites, assisting with design" If this is a service you offer, what programs are you familiar with. Can you edit javascript, or raw html? Do you use a program or are you familiar with scripting languages? Be careful what you say here. If you're proficient in a certain program or programming language make sure clients know that up front.

I hope that helps a little bit, you have a great start and I look forward to learning about your VA experiences.

:-) Emma

Thanks for your suggestions. I will take a careful look again.

I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about using I or We - I am in the process of changing my site over to be "I". I've also received feedback that using "I" on the "About" page while sticking to "We" elsewhere was commonly used, and acceptable. I guess this is still a work in progress!

As for website services, I am familiar with editing content using templates or other more "simplistic" websites - I am not really familiar with raw HTML. Perhaps I will just take this out. It is something I can discuss with a client verbally, given my limitations.

The sidebar drives me crazy as well - my website is a template and doesn't seem to give the option to edit anything on either side. I will investigate this further as well.

Thanks for the suggestions!
