Default Opinions needed re: website
Hi all!

I have my website "out there", although I haven't done much yet with getting it registered on the big search engines (which is fine by me, as I'm still making minor changes here and there). Could you fine ladies (and men if there are any?) please take a look at my website and let me know what you think? It's http://www.yourlefthand.net. It's my first website ever! I used Yahoo webhosting and they have a very easy to use Site Builder.

Thank you so much for any opinions/advice!

Very nice, I like it very much.

I am not sure how it looks on your screen, but at least with mine, I notice some misalignments with the text in the banner which forces some of your words to overlap.

If it looks fine on your end, let me know so I can PM you a "screen print" to help you view exactly what I see from my screen.

But overall, I do like it! Good job.

Your title isn't showing up on all the pages, and some of the headings are running into the paragraph text. Other than that, nice work!

Might I suggest a wording change on your tagline at the bottom?

Quote:
By letting me help you, it gives you more time to devote
to things that will allow your business to grow!
That's very passive sounding with the words "letting" and "allow" and somewhat awkward. I would make it more direct and punchy. Assume the sale as they say in seminars...something along the lines of

Thanks ladies, those are things I wouldn't have picked up on. I will get on the site and tweak it and re-publish. I like the ideas for rewording to. I did forget to put the heading at the top of the page on all the other pages so that's an easy fix too.

You guys are great!

I would take advantage of your title tags for SEO purposes. Check out the SEO section of the forums and read any threads about optimizing your site for search engines.

Also, I think I would like the site centered in the page rather than off to the left. But, I don't know how the site builder works and if it's possible. If not, just ignore me

Here are my thoughts:

I find the text on the menus on the left fuzzy - is it because they're bolded?

On the contact page, you should include a phone number. I often ignore sites that have no real way to contact the business except a form. Also the heading is dropped lower than the headings on the other pages.

"How would you like to be contacted (email or phone)? Be sure to list your number if
that is your preference." - providing the phone number goes without saying if they want to be contacted by phone. I would find that insulting if I were reading the question - also if you are giving a choice, I would set it up with a check box for each of phone and email and have a line for the phone number to be typed in.

Services/Rates - there's a lot of stuff here. If you have 3 tiers of services, why not have a page for each tier and a page for your Terms? Again, I'd give people an option to call rather than send a form in. You may get a lot of tire kickers. People also don't want to wade through a lot of information, so breaking this page up would be good.

I think you've done a great job and only need to make the minor changes the others have already mentioned.

However, I do have one point to make about the template you've used; the graphic at the top of the screen looks to me rather like 2 sperm......or it could just be my eyes!!

I think it is a good start and I agree with the suggestions everyone has already mentioned.
