My website is up!
I set up my website tonight and am very excited about most of it. I wanted to get it up and running as soon as possible so that I can focus on other aspects. It's not quite as high tech as I would like, but I think it is a good place to start. I'd love to have feedback from people about the site, but not the blog page as there is an error with it that I have to contact Fat Cow about. I haven't been able to reach them tonight, so I will try again tomorrow. Now, as to the error. It's a very good thing I have a great sense of humor and can laugh at myself! Sometimes when you click on it Google comes up saying the link is broken and in the search bar it says executive assist blog. However, at other times it comes up in the search bar fatcow serita blog! I really am laughing at the words fat cow and my name in the same box, but I really think I want that fixed!
Anyone to provide feedback I'd appreciate it!

OOPs! I had added it to my signature last night and apparently that didn't work out either! Anyway, the link is www.executive-assist.net
Thanks Jules! I certainly won't get any feedback without the link!

Hi Serita,

A couple of comments:

1. On your services page your capitalization is not consistent. Some items have the second word capitalized & others the second word is lower case. Also, "social network setup or updating" isn't capitalized at all. A very easy fix.

2. On this same page, I would insert an extra line break before your summation sentence at the bottom, as currently, in my browser (IE7), there is no break, so your sentence is right up against your list. Another very easy fix.

3. You don't have a rates page. Potential clients will want to see this info. Also, I think you should consider adding some terms. Many VAs include rates & terms on the same page, some put them on different pages, but your clients will want to know what your billing policies are & things like that.

4. With the exception of your contact form, there is no contact information on your site. Who are you? Where are you located? If I wanted to call you to ask a few questions, there is no way to do that.

5. This is just a personal preference, but I would re-arrange the menu at the top. I would have 1) Home, 2) What is a VA, 3) What V@ can do for you, 4) Contact, 5) Rates & Terms, & 6) blog.

I think you have a good start, you just need to flesh it out a bit. I like the orange on the dark red with the striping at the top.

You certainly have taken the bull by the horns & gotten your site up quickly! Maybe you could send a little of that energy/urgency my way!

Good luck!

Lezly

PS - Do you know about the nifty little rate calculator this site offers? It's a really cool tool!

Wow Serita!

How do you do it? Have you been getting any sleep, lol?

You are off to a great start...the advice from Lezly is very good. I really like the look of your website.

Thanks ladies! Appreciate the feedback. I will certainly go back and do the updates suggested. I plan to put in the rates and terms page, but I want to do a little more searching around before doing so. I don't want to under or overcharge anyone. I didn't put further contact info on the site yet because I am not set up to go yet. I just wanted to work on the site first because I want all the bugs worked out before I start marketing for clients.
As for how I do it, I am not working right now, other than to get this business set up. And I must say, it is really fun and exciting.

Hi Serita,

Love the colours and clean design of your layout...and your enthusiasm! I'm at the beginning stages of my VA business and the waiting to get everything set up is frustrating to say the least, so it's nice to see everyone's new websites - gives me something to look forward to.

I just wanted to let you know that you have a typo on your 'What Executive @ssist Can Do For You". The keyboard got away on you with the word 'office' on the right hand side. Probably just a side effect of all that energy that Lezly was referring to!

Congrats on the new website!

Cindy

Thanks Sarah! I wanted something simple, but also with a sleek look to it. I am hoping to get the message of concise, yet bold and creative.
