Hi!

I have finally done my website!

firstly, can I explain a couple of things:-

* The site is all html with a bit of css code thrown in (go me!). I did the site by myself (even though I started with little HTML knowledge and no CSS knowledge whatsoever! - yes, i even had trouble with my menu section but it's all sorted out now!) I had tried to upload other 'templates' to the site, but as I'm now hosted on Google Pages, the pages that I uploaded didn't look right; hence having to do the site by myself.
* I have got an IFRAME in the page. I have noticed that a few people don't recommend this (as it's not "web techy now"); however I felt more comfortable doing things in iFrames; as a few sites where I have got my inspirations from use a similar format to iframes.
* You may notice a gap between the content and the footer. Again, this is the IFRAME issue. I have set it so that it's 700 pixels as the contact page is the largest page on the site due to the contact form.
* The press release section hasn't got any press releases on there at the moment; it will have one on there on Tuesday (i hope!).

I love the colours and white space that looks good. I found a few things though:

The text is awfully small. Some people may have trouble reading it.
Link to VA directory - why point people to your competition?
Under About: Meet the team - you only have yourself listed. Can one person be a team?
On the "About" box on the right side - I'd remove the justification - the third line has a lot of space between the three words (at least on my browser)
I wouldn't have the news box there until there was more to see than just "testing"
Under Fees, second sentence, consider re-wording, looks bulky
Under Press: Publications - I'd take that out until you have something to populate it with

Hi Lia,
Looks very cool - nice look overall though I do agree the font is teeny tiny (and I tend to really like smaller fonts).
Nothing happens when I click the 'byte' download option in your sidebar?

All in all I quite like it

Hi Lia,

Well done on creating the site on your own. I like clean look of the site, but like the others I think the font is too small.

I clicked on the "byte" link and it worked for me, I am on IE.

Good luck with the business, hope the clients come flooding in.

Hi Lia-

You have been a busy bee

. Way to go with your website!

Overall you have pulled it together really well and I'm sure you're working hard at putting your content together.

I will echo the font size concerns and I am curious though as to why you have "Powered by CO.CC" in your pages title, do make the best use of your titles

Hi,
I like the overall design of the site but agree that the font is too small. You do not want people to have to strain to read the text on your page.
You may also want to add some more content to the site as it looks a little empty.
Over all good start and great job doing it yourself. Keep up the good work.

I have to agree with the others that the font is too small. You only have about 7 seconds for most people coming to your site - so if they can't read it, they will leave.

Once you enlarge the font, it may take up some of the white space left over. If not, you may need to add more content or maybe some graphics as there's not enough content.

I'd love to see a picture of you. It's hard to tell who you are without a picture to go with it. And I'd be much more personal on the About Us page. People actually want to work with a real person, not a company. So what is it about you that makes you unique? What is it about you that only you can provide? That's your selling points. Be more authentic in your website and the clients will flock to you.

Great job. I'm proud of you for being able to do this. I have to have a webmaster for my site.

Hi Lia,
You have done a lot of work on your website. I really like the font style that you used on your name at the top. I think you have received some helpful comments from everyone else. The only other thing you may wish to reconsider is pointing out that you are a new company. You didn't come right out and say it, but you stated that your 2008 Summer newsletter was as old as your company. I'm not sure that you want to draw attention to this fact as some clients might be inclined to look elsewhere for a VA that has been in business longer. It's very impressive that you created this site on your own with minimal HTML/CSS knowledge!

thanks for all the *positive* reviews! Especially with the design!! (i worked hard on it!)

I will definetly enlarge the text to size 14 or even 16 (it's currently at size 12 i think).

Tess - I will look at that link.

I am going to add more content to the site - I'm going to get some people who I know to look at it and give me their opinions and whether I need to add more content to where.

Julia - I will delete that link about the business link (obviously I'll be keeping the link to this lovely forum!

)

Agnes - I am going to have a look to see if I can get that "Powered by .co.cc" removed. I am even thinking of getting paid domain (I found a UK company that does domains only for £10 for 2 years- works out at £5 a hour)

About the calculator - I will look into having it onto my site; but it's in dollars - i trade in pounds sterling... (Tess - is there anywhere where you can change the currency; i.e. euros, pound sterling, etc??)

picture: I am very young (only in my early twenties). Plus, I am having major problems connecting my phone to the computer to send pictures to my friends, put ringtones on my phone, etc...

the last point that I'm considering making is putting the contact form on a new page (just to make the i-frame smaller). not sure whether that would be a good idea or not....

Well done on teaching yourself some html!

Again I agree with the small font.
I found your header for some reason reminded of a newspaper website- I think it was the font and the coloring. I really like it.
Not sure what the calculator is but overall

I have sorted out the font size problem - it's now set at size 13.

I have also modified some text; and have deleted the "meet the team" page.

The new site map will be uploaded in a few mins, i have a wee problem with my RSS feed that i'm rectifying at this minute (bear with me!!)

Wow, your website looks really great! Good job.

I'm afraid I can't comment on font size... etc, since I'm on my internet tablet atm, but I can tell you that it displays nicely on maemo linux.
