I just want to add. I took a huge leap of faith and raised my rates. I'm listening to the advice of you more experiences VA's. Pray it works well for me.

Hi Rhonda
I jumped right onto your rates page since you mentioned it - it might be a good idea to include a short paragraph about the different ways you work with clients (from the retainer/hourly perspective) and provide in-text links to those pages that you have listed in the menu on the left. Although I see the site overall is laid out this way - maybe it's just me not noticing the navigation on the left? Is there a way to make them a bit bigger or more noticeable somehow?

I did find a few typos, nothing major and I know you are fastidious about your professional image - but we all get bleary eyed after pages and pages of content so I might recommend quickly combing through your text. (On the 'Resources' page where you're talking about Diane Hess - 'becoming' is spelled with 2 m's...)

Overall I think your information is presented in an easy-to-read manner, it's personable and not overly dry (I think some sites err on the side of 'too professional' and the personality gets lost) but I do feel like your site could benefit from a few images - either of yourself or of something representative of your business and services. It's pretty text-heavy and studies have shown that if users have to read too much on a page (without an image to break up the content) they get bored and will click off sooner. Users respond best to images of the human face and there are lots of great stock photos suitable for a VA website (if you aren't comfortable using pics of yourself).

Ultimately, though I have to admit I am not a fan of this template style - they are used so often it's hard to tell the sites apart anymore and I think they lack personality. Have you considered switching to a clean WordPress site? I think a nicer template would better showcase all that you have to offer (which is a lot!)

BTW, good for you for charging a rate more representative of the level of service you offer!

Tess, Yes I definitely was getting bleary eyed after hours of reworking it. I will go through it again and find those typos. As far images go that is a work in progress. My cousin is a photographer, and is going to take some professional images of me in an office setting and a few outdoor ones, but his girl just had a baby and we've been waiting on his arrival which came today by the way. As soon as his girl is back on her feet we are going to get together to do this.

Regarding WordPress I am actually going to be switching, but I had no clue how to use it so I am currenlty interning with Alyssa Avant to learn it. I am almost ready to make that switch. In the meantime I wanted to get the pages the way I wanted them to be laid out and that's what I've been playing with. Some of my pages where just so long I wanted to break it up and so I added additional pages to accomplish that.

I'm dreading the switch, but know I will be much happier once it is done. I have a lot of content to move. I wish now I would've have started off with WordPress, but had no clue really and didn't have the funds in the beginning. I started with no money so that being said I did the best I could with what resources were available.

And yes I am very particular about my image. Both personally and professionally, but I felt it was necessary to provide my personal image as well at least in little tidbits here and there. I like to connect with people. I like that feeling when I work with someone and I think others do to, but I do feel that my landing page is a little staunchy and I think that images will help that a bit.

Thank you so much for reviewing it. I wanted to get some opinions about the content and stuff before I switch so that once I make the switch I basically have everything in place it's just a matter of moving it over. I am never truly happy with the site it's on and am always moving things around trying to make it better. It is so limiting on my site, but soon that will change. Yeay!
