Default Is my site ready to "put out there" and market
I am a little insecure still after being a stay at home mom for so many years. I know I have the skills,(even sometimes I second guess them) I really just want to make sure others feel the same way and want to hire me...

Anyway, as most of you know a website is never really done, however if you would mind taking a quick look and let me know if you feel that it is alright to go ahead and market and send potential clients to.

I just got my skype number and need to put that on there and plan on putting a newsletter out so I will be adding a sign up form too.

I also plan on changing my services as my niche kind of settles in a bit but I put a general service list for now.

What do you think....is it alright enough to present to some potential clients, announce to may facebook, twitter etc.

trishh.com

Thanks so much.
Trish

Accruing age is one of the most important aspects to website ranking. I also struggle with the idea of putting my website out there too early and any negative effects that may have. My thought here is that again I need to have this website start to age and I need to be posting on the blog as much as I can. Do I think that potential clients may come to my site and possible be turned away because it is not finished? Maybe. But I have faith that I will bring on most of my new business through word of mouth and face to face contact. By the time I hit the streets, my website will be ready. Unitl then I think you need to focus on getting your site up and ranked for the terms you want locally. Just one persons opinion.

Trish, I think your site is very well done. I'm currently in the process of putting mine together - which is pretty overwhelming for me at the moment. I've been checking out other VA's websites to see what types of things they include that I haven't thought about. I LOVE that you have access to client projects right from your site. What a great idea. It gave me another item to add to my R&D to do list.

Hello Trish,

I just went to your site and it looks great. There are a few things you may or may not want to change.

Home Page - I think there should be something on it that says "Hire Me" a call to action or an intriguing invitation to continue on to other pages.

Current Clients - Under Project Management, I would use either, leave or include but not both. (Be sure to leave include your client name) You have this statement in two places under project management.

Under Pay your invoice or monthly retainer you have (Mail check) but under FAQ you state (We accept PayPal, money orders and certified cheques as payment.) I would stick with one way of spelling it and not use both ways.

Under Schedule a Meeting or Phone Conference you state: (You may schedule an meeting) I believe this should be, You may schedule a meeting.

FAQ
Under #2 you state: (Virtual assistance saves you money because VAs work only when you need them.) It should say assistants.

Under #4 you state: (When you hire a virtual assistant, our job is to make your day better.) I would remove "day" and replace it with "business" or something more concrete as to how a VA makes a business better.

Continuing with #4 you state: (Your satisfaction is key to the success of our business, so you can expect a solid and reliable performance, on a continuing basis. You can trust a virtual assistant will take care of your business needs as if they were their own. Our business is to help YOUR business succeed.) The bold parts are to help you reword the paragraph.

Under #6 #7 you state: (Visit our Virtual Assistant Rates and Retainers page) You do not have a Rates and Retainers page.

You do not have an About Us page. If you would like potential clients to connect with you prior to emailing or calling you, you should show off your skills in the About Us section of your website.

You state you are a member of the International Virtual Assistant Service, but this does not exist. You joined the International Virtual Assistant Association per the logo you have on your site.

You mention consults but you do not put a time limit on the consults such as, "Free 30 minute consultations are available. Please schedule your consult using our online scheduler."

I hope I have helped you in some way.

Good work,
Andrea~

Wow! Andrea, when I finish the prelim on my website will you critique it for me? You've got a great eye for important details! I've just been giving my opinion on the overall feel I got from the sites I've looked at. After reading your post, I realize I'm not doing anyone any favors here. If I intend to post here, I need to give an useful evaluation...like you did.

Sure, just do a post like Trish did and you will find me and many others who can critique your site
