My first client website - please review
Okay. I have been working on my first client website and would love your thoughts. It's not completely finished, but it's close I think. Would love some input before I put the finishing touches on it.

Thanks so much!

Re: My first client website - please review
Beautiful site! Nice choice of WP template- the colors work very well together, and the layout flows nicely. I noticed the pictures load a little slowly, but the rest of the content is well-written and Robert J. Ward sounds like a pretty interesting guy!

Re: My first client website - please review
I also like the colors and the layout looks nice and easy to follow. I didn't have any problems with the pictures loading, but some of them are a little blurry and could stand to be cropped. The extension cords in the background make it look like he is in a less than professional venue. While that may be true and he may be okay with that, it isn't something that he should advertise to potential clients. One other thing that I think you may want to reconsider is the font in your menu. It is a little difficult to read, but may be better if the words were in a different color or bolded.
Just my opinions and I hope you don't take it as being too critical, because the web site really does look great! Congratulations on completing it!

Re: My first client website - please review
I agree with the font color on the menus. Perhaps a contrasting color to the blue would be helpful.
This website is great for finding contrasting/complementary colors:
http://colorschemedesigner.com/
For example, the background color of your menu is #3D5EA4. Plug that in as your RGB value, choose the "complement" color scheme at top and voila! The lightest color on the lower right would work well.
This is all a matter of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so do what you feel looks best!

Re: My first client website - please review
Rhonda,
Please don't be offended but I thought two things:
...that the pictures are very amateurish and look that way. I don't know if you can sharpen and brighten the photos but I really think that in this digital age, this client could be submitting much better pictures. I'd ask him to have them retaken by a professional.
Also, I think that this site is too wordy. I wouldn't expect anyone to read all that. I don't think the homepage should be 'about Robert' rather the home page should be about what Robert offers and the solutions he provides. If I was a customer coming to this website I would want to see myself and my problems in the homepage and how Robert can help me. Roberts Story should be on a subpage and is the type of information that someone would go to on a secondary level once I become interested in the solutions Robert provides.

I agree that changing the color of the menu items would really help the site. That being said, you did an awesome job. Congratulations!

Re: My first client website - please review
Thank you all so much for your suggestions. This is why I asked. I still have some work to do on it and wanted to know what really stood out to all of you so I could fix them. I will work on those issues and let you know when I've made the changes. The only change that I'm not sure can be made is the photos the client wanted to use, but I will address that issue with the client. Thanks again, Rhonda

Re: My first client website - please review
I changed the top menu color scheme on the text and also made the hover color different. I also made a different page of the site as it currently is as the page you come in on.
Janine, other than Robert's story was there anything else you felt was to wordy?
Thanks,
Rhonda

Re: My first client website - please review
I like the site. I think the description is needed, and if a visitor to the site wants to read the detail, it's good to have it available. I found your site easy to navigate also.
Your sub's are not the same length size as the original tab. Not a real big deal, but to others who create websites, they would notice that detail.
All in all, I think you did a really good job on your first site! Congrats.

That's weird about the dropdown menus. I never noticed it. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Now I have to figure out how to fix it. LOL.
