You have a nice website, not too busy, and clean. You have convinced me to add rates on my website and probably start a retainer package as well.

Really good site, layout is great. Did not read through it all but what I have read is well written.
One think, as I said, I have not read every word, but I have not come across you name anywhere - business name, yes but first name, no. Is this intentional?

Good luck with the launch, if your site is anything to go by, you will have a great business very shortly.

Thank you all for your feedback. I really appreciate it!

Vicky - yes I am based in Australia. and if you have never heard of us it's because this is my first attempt at being a VA! I decided to launch as a Multi-VA practice as opposed to a Solo VA. I know this is an unusual way to do things, but I take comfort in knowing that 1. I can work with other VA's who's skill set are complementary to mine when a client needs a service outside my own scope and 2. I believe in the power of teamwork and synergy and feel that 2 or more heads are always better than one. 3. the book "e-myth" by Michael Gerber was a source of great inspiration in terms of taking this approach. I am happy to do all of the marketing (I've already attend a few local network events to expose myself and have a few people who are interested - I begin a full scale marketing rampage next week! Eck! and I think this would be great for other VA's who are also growing their client base or a little shy with the marketing and sales process - which I will be able to handle!

I initially registered my business back in August 2008, and have done extensive research in regards to running a VA practice both as a solo and a multi-va, compared rates in my local market, services etc thanks to the generous information that VA's share on the web and the advice offered to me via forums, it has made my job easy and also grateful for the fact that I've entered a friendly industry of people who want to see each other succeed (another reason why I decided to open a Multi-VA practice at the get go!) ...

Although it was a while ago when I registered, I feel alot more confident now that I've built solid foundations. I'm now busy creating processes documents and manuals for when I start working with Associate VA's so that certain work can be done "automatically" and when the associates come on board I'm sure they will also be able to add to the processes or even improve upon that!

Again thank you all for your feedback.

Cheers
Aise

I would tend to agree, but then again, if you do discount, don't discount too much. For years, I would always post an actual fee then post a professional courtesy discount, so the patient or client could actually see the discount they were receiving. Or you could say, for this particular assignment, I will charge X and then future assignments will be X. Someone had posted on a forum before offering the first hour FREE. I wouldn't do this! If you do want to offer a FREE hour, do it on the 2nd or 3rd hour. Good luck!

Thanks Robin - that's great advice. I think my rates are competitive in my local market and as Annette mentioned earlier in this thread (Annette thank you for responding to my question regarding rates ) if we all tried to under price each other none of us would have a business! Instead I have offered an introductory trial period of 2 hours with a rate that is discounted to try out ALL services, but this will only last for 3 months and then will be pulled down. Thanks again for the well wishes Robin!

Cheers
Aise
