Default Josephine and I would love anyone's input in reviewing our new site
I have recently joined the forum and have enjoyed seeing the wonderful accomplishments of so many Virtual Assistants. My business partner, Josephine, and I have been also developing our site over the last 6 months and we hope to launch it by the end of March. We know how important our web site is to our image and reputation and we would love the critique from people within our industry first, so we thought this forum would be a perfect place.

We are not targeting any niche markets initially. Our short term targets will be local clients and clients obtained by word of mouth. We may also be able to obtain work with some corporate clients, predominately our previous employers.

While developing our business, we have received some encouraging leads. For this reason, we are eager to finalise the site to support our other marketing material and get started with our business. We are aware though, that we need to complete a lot of work on our SEO. Through researching the SEO section of the forum I've learnt that Ineed to work on our keyword selection and density. Is there any other obvious areas I'll need to pay attention to? (Our site is in flash and the text, links and other content is reproduced in an HTML tag, we are still learning what this all means and how we will be effected).

We appreciate anyone willing to give it the once over and advise any corrections or suggestions. We look forward to your comments and thank you so much for your help.

I think it looks great. I like the layout, the style and the colors. I like that it's not over-filled with links and ads. I'm not an SEO expert by any stretch so I can't speak to the technical stuff.

HI Well, it sounds like you're pretty much aware of the issues with a flash site when it comes to SEO...however, because you included search-engine-visible HTML files for your content you've effectively overcome that issue (it looks like all of your pages have been indexed individually on Google, so that's a great step in the right direction.

Take a look at your page titles for each though, as well as the description for each - these are important places you can take advantage of some additional SEO "real-estate" and implement keywords toward your local market (ie - include your city/location along with your other keywords.)

Your site is clean looking and spaced nicely, etc. I would *maybe* consider making the menu larger, or all caps....something a bit more visible.

Congrats on moving closer to your goal of launching the site!

On your Services page, I would consider changing the yellow font color to something else. I found it a bit tough to read.

Thank you Rebecka. We appreciate your comments.

Thank you also Tess and Julie. We'll have a look at enlarging the menu bar and the links in the Services page is something we'll need to revisit.

Hi Tess, Thanks for the idea. We have increased the font and it is definately better. We have looked at the site so many times and not questioned the sizing. It is great to have some fresh eyes and suggestions.

Hi Julie,
Thanks for your suggestion. We had previously tried a few different colours and found that the mustard colour was the best fit. However, we take your point that it too bright for reading. I've created a darkened version. Is this better?

I love the colors and fonts, and the content is excellent-very professional and to the point. I believe your menu options need to be even further enhanced. Maybe make them buttons rather than simple underlined links, or leave that as is for quick navigation but add a sidebar menu as well.
