Default Here's Mine - @SkylineVA
Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your feedback. After using webbuilder templates for so long, I decided I needed a better representation of me... and after finally making my mind up on how I wanted it to look, it's finished... I think... (for now). LOL

My main concern at the moment is possibly cleaning up the code. I'm sure there's a better way to have done this, but I used Photoshop Elements to create all the layers & images, then imported them into Adobe GoLive to create the website. I'm not too sure about how to make the code prettier though b/c GoLive still lets you use the "layout view" when "designing". I used the source view when needed, but for the most part I just did everything "visually". Any thoughts on this aspect?

Thanks!

Shana;

I am no webmaster; but I love the look of your site! It is very original and not like any other I have seen.

Each page seems to have some issue with the text. It is overlapping or overwritten over other text. One page; testimonals -- you can see text hiding behind the boxes.

Great job - wish I had this type of talent. Maybe website design/coding is my next professional class!

Aw, thanks Cindy! I appreciate that. My taste certainly can be different! lol

I was wondering about how it looked to others. Bummer. I've tried it out in IE & FF on multiple computers - & in our house nothing seemed off. Sigh. LOL Thanks for letting me know....

I'm definitely no webmaster either, so I'm not too sure of how to fix it so that it looks the same globally. If anyone knows, definitely leave a comment!

Thanks again for taking the time to look!

Hi Shana!

Your website is just amazing. I love it! I looked using both Firefox and IE, and the only problem I can see with the text is that the quotation marks on the testimonials page overlap the text. But that may just be a design element for you...meaning you meant it to be that way.

Anyway, the site is not only gorgeous, but also full great information and is very easy to navigate.

Way to go!

Wow, now I wonder if it something with my computer! I use IE 7, with Vista and checked it again to see the same.

I tried to attached a word doc with a couple of screen prints (but it failed twice)-- if anyone knows if this something with my 'puter instead of your wonderful site -- I would like some suggestions as how to correct

Thanks Jennifer! lol I hate having people look at my stuff - lol - I'm pretty self-conscious but I'm really happy to hear the comments so far - praise or otherwise.

It's interesting that everything looked ok on your screen. LOL Yeh, actually, I've been meaning to lighten up those quotes. They are supposed to overlap, but probably not be so invasive. Thanks for the comment. I'm probably going to just scrap that & do something easier to read!

Oh, it's ok Cindy - I take your word for it - though appreciate you looking. I'm sure it's my site. LOL I am still interested to know if anyone has any surefire suggestions about how to make a website look the same across the board, but I'm thinking I'm just going to have to live with the fact that it could look bad on some people's machines. No worries. My hubby uses Vista w/ IE7 & it looked fine on his - so it's just hard to really make sure these things are perfect some times.

Thanks again!

Shana,

I loved that you matched your Twitter background and your website.

What did you use to create your Twitter background?

Nice job on both!

Janine

Thanks Bernice, Bobbie, & Janine! I appreciate you taking a look - & yes hopefully I will be able to get the kinks worked out soon! One of those things I hate dealing with! lol I probably worked on this thing 40hrs straight (while waking) to get it finished so I'll be taking a break for a bit then revisiting the issues once my eyes uncross! lol

Oh, Janine - I used Photoshop Elements for twitter. Since my website was done with that program, I just turned on all the layers that make up the background only, saved that as one image. Then I used that website image as the main background, then added in the side paper image for twitter use. Saved for web, resized it a bit, then uploaded it. It, too, needs a little more work though - but not today! lol

Thanks again everyone - your feedback is greatly appreciated!
