Thank you, Theresa! Yeah, I didn't want to go overboard with the "grunge." Some folks just don't care for that look, so I didn't "grunge-up" the menu and a few other things. It's just enough "grungyness" for me to like it .

I like the green for your nav bar, it ties in with the green of your name, and the grey bar doesn't bother me either, but if you wanted to change a color, I'd probably go with that one.
|
I'm mulling things around to see what I come up with. The gray has bothered me, so that is one of the things for sure - and a repeating background where the plain background color is. I can live with that green, but perhaps that is because I love green.
Thanks for your input! Hey, I looked at some of the beautiful Morgan horses! I'm a horse lover big time. I had an Arabian when I was younger...she was so special; we had quite the bond.

Re: Feedback on logo/design, please
Jules - Your premise, your origination point, is "Sunrise," right?
So the design needs to follow from that.
What is "sunrise" to you in terms of colors, textures, shapes?
Or perhaps I (you) should ask, why do you seem to want to combine the sunrise concept with a brown background which seems to deny, or work against, the idea of sunrise.
Do you see what I mean? Ideally, perhaps, you need a resolution to the 'problem' of sunrise and brown being a mismatch.

Hmmm...perhaps I need to come up with a different business name; something nondescript that doesn't fit into preconceived ideas. I'm trying not to get too caught up in the whole "sunrise" thing and focus more on the virtual solutions and content that will go with that.
Oy (I seem to say that a lot - maybe www.oyvirtualsolutions.com). You make some good points, Mary. Could be I'm having an identity crisis. Thank you!

Re: Feedback on logo/design, please
Hey guys, I have to say something... I'm not usually so wishy-washy nor indecisive about things. This is so important to me, and I want to get it right, so this wavering back and forth and not being sure about my site, business name, and whatnot, is driving me absolutely batty.
I also want to say a huge thank you to y'all!!!

Re: Feedback on logo/design, please
Okay, I made some changes to the top area. There's a big ole sun there now. I also did a color overlay on the top area to lighten/brighten it a bit. Still needs work, but it is getting late and I have a bunch of running around to do tomorrow, or I would keep working on it.
Nighty-night!

Re: Feedback on logo/design, please
Jules, your hard work is an inspiration!
As a new business owner myself, I know how much you want to have everything "just right". If I could make an unsolicited suggestion to you - trust yourself! You know what you want better than anyone else, and you know how you want your business to be seen by others. You are creative and spunky - and definitely have the ability to design your site well. Don't let micro details bog you down and detract from the whole picture...
One of the freedoms that I have whole-heartedly embraced (perhaps too much so) is that the only approval I need is my own. Quality is absolutely integral - and opinions from the experienced VAs like those on this forum matter to me immensely - but in the end, I make the final decision based on my knowledge of my own business. I'm the boss!
You're doing great!

Aw, thank you, Crystal! I'm running on fumes right now with the lack of sleep, but it will pay off tremendously in the end.

Very well said, and I wholeheartedly agree (those micro details can be a booger - if I let them be)!! Your words helped so much. So, I'm going with my "gut" and going from there.

And again, I agree! You have helped me get my clarity back. It is so great to have this forum to bounce ideas off other VAs, and in return, get so much great advice. At the end of the day, you are right, it is up to me to be "the boss" and step up to the plate. Awesome!
Thank you very much!!

I'm right there with ya (including the identity crisis...lol). You'll get it. I agree with everyone else regarding the green, a bit too bright compared to the rest. But, what I want to know is why did you change it from the way it was? I really liked that design and, to me at least, it actually seemed more "grungy". I loved the coppery look and embossed sun logo. Just my humble two cents
**I just took another look and, actually, the green's not too bad when I really look at it because it does bring out the green in the flowers. Something does still seem a bit off for me but I can't seem to put my finger on it. I wish I had better suggestions.**
