I have been working on my new WP design. I like a "grungy" style, so that is what I decided on. (Kinda like me - old, worn, torn, with a bit of whimsy thrown in )

Would y'all let me know what you think of the logo (fonts, "look," colors) and the overall design, please? (Not content - I want the design down first. )

I do have to edit the red arrow images in the dropdown menu yet.

I like everything but the gray bar at the type. The color doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the theme.

There is something I don't like but I am not sure what it is. Maybe how the brown background is smudged into the other background. I do like the logo so that is not it and the gray bar isn't really a big issue with me. Sorry I could not be of more help to you.

Jules, I love your personality and creativity - I struggle with "showing" myself in my webcopy.

I like the overall look and feel - but I do have a suggestion: try a color other than green (or the green you have) for the standout attention grabby bar etc - maybe a nature-esque color, like a burnt orange or brick red... not too muted, but not so out of sync with the rest of your palette?

Just a suggestion, and please consider the source - I'm a plain person in dress, home decoration, and design.

Oh no, you've been a great help, Lee! I need to create a repeating background for the page background color (the plain-colored area). The top grungy part is a completely re-done version of what was in the template (looks nothing like the original), and that was one thing I didn't like - how the "theme" wasn't carried down throughout the whole page. I'm putting this on my list, too, and have some ideas.

Hmmmm...I'll see what I can come up with. I kind of liked the fact that that stands out, but I do see what you mean (it is pretty "in your face"). Green and red are two of my fave colors, so perhaps more of an olive green that ties in with some of the faded flowers. Would work good for the logo greens, too. <thanks!>

I lean more towards a "nature" color scheme at home, so I hear ya!

I liked your site Jules! I don't quite get the "grunge" thing though. I don't see grunge when I look at the site.

I like the green for your nav bar, it ties in with the green of your name, and the grey bar doesn't bother me either, but if you wanted to change a color, I'd probably go with that one.
