Re: could you review my site?
Staci,
I think the photo of you is rather nice and I think you are smart to put a face to the words.
The only question I have is the domain name for the blog. Unless you ARE the brand, such as expert bloggers Darren Rouse or Mari Smith, I think that domains should have keywords indicating what the blog is about. Of course, you could have other domains pointing to this one in which case my comments wouldn't say much but if yourname.com is the only domain, it is a lot harder for people to find you if they do a search (unless they know you by name). So if the domain was StaciTookeVirtualAssistant.com the keywords 'virtual assistant' might be the clincher to get your blog to appear in the search engines.
I also think that the listings at the top are quite wordy, almost too techy. Integrated Internet Contact Management Support is a mouthful and it is my belief that it would be easier for someone who is not so techy to understand this in more layman's terms.
I like white blogs because I believe they read so much clearer than most but I also think that this theme is almost 'too white' particularly when I scroll down. I see that you can include thumbnails with your posts which is helpful to break up the white but I would use them every time you post and perhaps change out the types of images to offer variety. I also see that your images are not labeled. When I hover over them, it should offer a description of the thumbnail.
I like the other portions of the blog which shows your prior posts. I would clarify 'Get Updates' to encourage people to get updates about something in particular. It is not entirely clear to me what I would be signing up for since you already have an RSS on the site. I would say specifically Receive Updates on How a VA Can Help You or Receive Updates with Social Media Tips, for example.
You did a great job with the Services page. Nicely stated and well-understood. On the Contact page, consider labeling the message to be more specific such as 'please tell me what services I can provide'. It just helps you to get going if a new client should contact you.
Good Luck!
Janine
