Question Confusing buttons??
I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I just changed my website and I'm not sure about my use of buttons as a tool bar. Could someone comment and let me know if it's too confusing and if I should add text to the buttons. One of my family member looked at it yesterday and said that it was confusing. I ask for another review of my site on this board but no answers .

Any input would be great!

The buttons are cute. But, your family member is correct. No one will know what the buttons mean accept the home button which depicts a home, the clip board with a check does not depict services and so on.

Try labeling them and see what that looks like.

Thank you so much that's exactly the comments I was looking for. I will add text to the buttons today.

I agree with Andrea - can you just add a bit of text either right above or right below each button to give them some specific purpose and hopefully drive your visitors to use them? But yes, they are cute

Hi Genevieve,
I concur about the buttons, words or even "titles" added to the menu would help lessen the confusion. Websites are a always being tweaked and updated. It was a good idea to have family/friend review the site for you and the VA's here are always willing to help too.

Cheers!!

I agree with everyone else, I was not quite sure what button to push for what information. Also, being at the bottom of the fold does not help them either. Most people, look to the top or left to find navigation links.

I will put the appropriate descriptions under the buttons but I'm having major computer issues. My computer died on me and I'm trying to recover my data so I have to save my files one by one and it's taking forever. I had already saved all my website stuff the day before my computer died but what a pain !! I did want another computer so it's good timing I guess. That will teach me to backup my stuff everyday! You never know when it's going to happen! It's a good thing that I have access to another computer. I wonder what caused it (hardware failure or virus)??

Thanks for the tip and I will correct it as soon as I can. Hopefully I made a better website than the one before and not make things worst.
