Re: Can you have a looksie at my site
Diane, I think your site is great overall, well designed and good energy.
I guess the only real suggestion I might make is to consider that you've got about ten to fifteen seconds to capture your visitor's interest and give them something to do, some reason to click (a call to action).
I'd move the definition of a VA in favor of the bit on your services and skills and mix in a 'click here for more information about how we can help your business succeed!' or similar.
And, while it is so very true that economy is a major player in decisions right now, I'd maybe rephrase the sentence on that so that it's lighter, less ominous. It's already a truth for your visitors, but you want to lighten that burden, make them feel inspired - like despire the fact that the economy is bad you can help them achieve greater business success.
As I move further into the site I notice that you invite visitors to get in touch with you (in your text) but those invites are not linked to your contact page.
Overall I think the site is cute, could use some real Search Engine Optimization to be sure, and would benefit from a little attention to message placement and calls to action.
And, I just wrote this to another VA yesterday about her site - your website isn't likely to be the source of a stream of clients, so don't be disheartened if you aren't getting overwhelmed by inquiries through your site. It's important to invest time in active marketing; direct those potential ideal clients to your site for more information but don't rely on it to be the be all and end all of your income source.
