I created two Wordpress blogs, over the summer. I learned WP by trial and error and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. I have creating a blog down pat. I am confident that I can now tackle my web site. IMHO, there is no substitute for hands on learning, whether one has a mentor or uses other learning tools. Bottom line is that if you do it all yourself, be ready to spend a lot of time at it. But, once you learn it, you will have an incredible feeling of accomplishment and you will have learned a skill that is marketable!

@Malaika , yes , by trial and error I found out that it's a blog and not a domain if I want a domain I will have to purchase one ( will do this later on) and yes, I love doing it myself because it gives me a sense of accomplishment, once I can tackle this project of mine I can also offer it later on.

@Peppy, So, true , I spend late nights and early mornings on forums, and on youtube ( excellent tool) and as you said once I learn it and get the hang of it I can also market it as a service.

This weekend I want to learn the fonts and adding static pages ( We will see how I will do)

Your site is a continuing work in progress and while your site looks more like a blog than an information site that will change over time as you add and hone it. You do need to add more information for potential clients. Just keep in mind that your site should answer:

How can you help me?
Why should I do business with you?
What action should I take?

Take those three questions and build from there. Here is where I would start:

HOME: Instead of using the traditional VA definition write some copy about why your services will help them.

Add and ABOUT page: Tell everyone who you are, why you are doing what you love and anything that will support your expertise.

Add SERVICES page: List what services you provide and any supporting details for them.

CONTACT: Make this information available on ALL of you pages. Let everyone know how to get a hold of you.

Remember it is important to add your keywords to your copy for the search engines but you really need to write for your client first and foremost.

Kudos to you for taking on this task and learning to add to your skill set. PM me if you have any questions about my suggestions, I would not mind at all.

Well the one thing that everyone has completely overlooked and failed to point out is that you are using Wordpress's blogging site instead of their static page website. Wordpress.com is specifically for blogs, which is what you are using. Wordpress.org is specifically to create static web pages which also incorporates a blog feature.

If you want to be able to create different static pages on your site, like About, Services, etc... then you need to use Wordpress.org. You also have to buy yourself a domain name and a find a hosting company. Then you can really get rolling on your website.

Excellent advice I will use both and Lee if you don't mind and if it's ok , I will use your questions to start writing.
I was looking for static pages and a website but as I was writing and trying to learn it came out like a blog and so I kept it.

I have to go back and add things.

I updated my wordpress blog/site today.
I updated the about page and the services I provide.
My question is , I don't know how I should charge ?

I think the way you have the site set up right now isn't what you're looking for and you really should try to change over to wordpress.org sooner rather than later so you can really start working on your site. Also, I think the about and services pages should be separate. As far as rates, have you found other VA's in Greece? Do you know how much they charge per hour? If not, maybe you should use the rate you were making at your last job and increase that rate a little. For example, made my hourly rate $5 more than I was making at my last job.
