Default Yahoo Messenger "Pingbox"
Today, as I was looking at some settings in my Yahoo Messenger, I discovered something called "Pingbox". The link takes me to a page that says:

Add a Pingbox to your social network profile, blog, or website, and chat with your visitors when you are signed into Yahoo! Messenger!

Has anyone ever heard of this, or used it?

I haven't heard of it (until now) but it sounds like Yahoo! is desperately trying to keep up

There are quite a few live chat services out there that you can integrate with a website or blog - I don't know if I'd want to use something connected to my IM (I use Skype because it has it all) because it seems like an invitation to interruptions all day long.

I agree with Tess, I do have my Skype name listed on my site, because I know it's something that's very helpful to many. But I find that people having to take my name and put it in the messenger filters out some of the non-sense.
