Default Writing Web Content
Do you write your own web content or do you have someone ghost write for you?

I'd be interested to know what most people do.

Personally, I hate writing, and I'm never happy with my own content and change it constantly but I don't mind writing for others and it usually needs little to no editing.

Can anyone give me some tips to writing my own web content without picking it apart daily? (Or point me to a really nice and affordable ghost writer )

Hi Cassandra,

I just saw this thread, so don't know if you're still looking for help, but I have some information on my website that might help you. My article library contains some articles about writing website content, and I also have a report that I could send you about 10 web copy tips. It's not available on my site anymore, but you can PM me if you're interested and I'll send you the link.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Hi Cassandra,

Tammi always has great advice when it comes to writing, so I would definitely take advantage of her expertise.

My advice and one thing that I try to do because I tend to over-edit myself is trying to write in two steps. Write down what you want to say and don't make any effort to do any editing. I know it can be hard, but if you separate the writing portion of your process from the editing portion, you may find you get a better flow and its easier to at least get down on paper what you're trying to say.

Hope that helps and good luck!

I recommend The Longman Guide to Style and Writing on the Internet. It's an excellent reference book.

Another GREAT resource is http://www.apstylebookonline.com - You can get a yearly subscription to their online version for $25 and it is ALWAYS up to date with the latest changes. You can also get the spiral bound print guide for just under $19.
