Default Should I put this on my website or not?
I would like input on whether or not I should include this on my website. I had it as a little blurb off to the side on my home page, but recently removed it. I thought it was kinda clever and funny, but have debated with a few other people about whether it's professional enough or not.

The more I think about it, maybe it's something more appropriate for a newsletter or email...rather than on the home page of a website

What do you guys think? All input is appreciated!...

You'd be amazed at what we can accomplish...
in our pajamas!
Since when did bunny slippers become appropriate work attire? When the world of "remote assistance" began to develop. With today's technology many aspects of business can be accomplished remotely. Our virtual assistants love the fact that they can skip the hassle of commuting to work every day, yet still accomplish what needs to be done to keep a successful law firm running smoothly. Yes, we're spoiled - and we love it!

What do you guys think? Keep or not keep?

Hi, Stasie. I love it, but I agree that it may be best suited for a newsletter or blog. Although we all agree that we love working in our fluffy slippers, I'm not sure our clients want to imagine us that way. But that's just me. I'm a little old school -- I keep a mini makeup kit, mirror, and hairbrush handy in my desk drawer just in case a client should contact me via Skype. I've really become skilled in applying lipstick and mascara in seconds!!

I agree with Patty who worded her answer very well - it's cute but might be better suited to a newsletter or blog. I too am a bit old school when it comes to professional presentation... there's nothing wrong with injecting your spirit and some fun energy in a business website and marketing materials but I think bunny slippers crosses that line a bit

Don't lose it entirely though - definitely put it to use in some other way!

I agree it does not lend itself to a professional image, especially for a law firm niche. Maybe for a niche involving work @ home creative professionals, otherwise it seems inappropriate.

Thanks for the honest opinions you guys! I agree also. And am laughing at loud at the emergency makeup kit for skype calls - good tip!

Although I use Skype for calls, I haven't yet plucked up the courage to use the webcam. I often take calls with my curlers in my hair! Heaven help the poor soul who could see me. They would never take me seriously again.

I love it! I do Skype with one Client on webcam and we are both in our PJ's. We get a big kick out of it! She is also a VA though and we have developed a great relationship. Otherwise I would not be showing myself in my PJ's to a client. I avoid web cam as much as possible. I am almost always in PJ's and my hair is always tossed in a bun or pony tail. Not something I would want to look at if I was on the other end. LOL! Great thread.

Also, and sorry I should've put this first, but I agree with the others. I love it! It's cute, and you should definitely put it to use. If you put in a newsletter you could have a fun section in your newsletter that would make it a perfect fit and then I think others would see the humor in it and not take it as being unprofessional!

I agree with the others, it is cute but not really conveying a professional presence. Being that you are targeting law industries I do not know if it is appropriate for a newsletter either.

I love, love, love Skype. I see your point -- it's not always convenient (a.k.a. house in the background a disaster, me looking like a cavewoman . . .) Hence, a makeup kit and quickly changing the angle of the camera so as not to see what I don't want to be seen
But I do use it and believe it's a wonderful way to communicate with a client whom you never get the chance to see. Granted, I don't have a heap load of clients. But if they're hip to Skyping, I feel it just gives that extra little added touch of being "there."
