I charge more for accounting/bookkeeping work than administrative/secretarial because it is a higher level of assistance. Other than that, I actually charge the same rates.

Branding is great and very refreshing (start of a brand new day).

The title "Eat mud...." threw me off though and wasn't sure if I wanted to read it.

After I did, it was cute. But, the negative connotation on first impact may put someone else off. Just an initial impression that probably isn't worth much in reality.

I thought about that, Lily, and will up my accounting/bookkeeping rate because it is a lot more work, especially if payroll is involved.

Thanks for the input! It was very helpful.

Glad you liked my branding!

LOL - yeah, the "Eat mud..." is just my weird sense of humor. I'll probably change it to something else.

Thanks a bunch!

Looks good to me- I just had a few comments. I agree with Lily that you should definitely be charging more for Bookkeeping than regular administrative services.

For your retainer packages, I'd considering just making it 10/15/20 rather than have ranges with a set dollar amount off per hour. It's easier for you and for new clients to just have a few options. My experience has usually been that the potential clients will ask me how it works or how many hours they should start with. If you're able to just say, my smallest package is 10 hours for $XXX and that you recommend they start there and re-assess if need be- they usually go for that. Otherwise, you're having discussions like, "if you need 7 hours then you get $1 off per hour which would be XXX but if you think you need 12 hours then that is $2 off per hour for a total of XXX. I think clients appreciate it more if you offer simple, straightforward packages. If you want to give them a bit more freedom, then explain that your hours do not expire, that is, they are not locked into using all of their time in just 30 days. This way clients will often feel better about committing to a set number of hours AND you get assured payment for a set number of hours.

I also don't think it's worth it to give a discount for less than a 10 hour package. If they need you less than 5 hours per month, then they are mostly like more of a project client than an ongoing client. Just my two cents! (Love the re-design by the way and your logo!)

Also, for the domain registration and the hosting services for websites, you might want to make it clear in your contract that you are registering for these on behalf of the client and be sure the domain is registered to the client and that the hosting account is in the client's name. You don't ultimately want to be responsible for these or for the on-going billing for them. I'm sure that's what you meant to do but the way it's worded on your site doesn't make that clear.

Great idea, Kimberly, about the 10/15/20. I'll work on that tomorrow. I kind of lean towards doing the dollar amount off, but just because that seemed easier to me. I'll do some thinking on this. Could do with no discount or smaller one for under 10 hours...it's getting late and my brain is starting to "fuzz up" on me.

Another great point, so no discount. Gottcha!

Oh cool! Glad you like the re-design! I've been hard at it.

I'll make it clearer in what I wrote. Thank you! Contract...Oy. I'm still working on that one. I'll get there, LOL.

Thanks so much. You helped a bunch!
