Having seen once again an unfortunate and misleading use of apostrophes in my local grocery circular, I think this is something
Word-wise could stand to address in detail. I've touched on apostrophe use before, but it's a lesson that bears repeating. Better yet, let's take this slowly and carefully and do it as several lessons over the next few weeks. First up:
Possessives
An apostrophe is commonly used to turn a noun into a possessive adjective. In most cases, that means simply attaching
's to a noun.
dog --> dog's
car --> car's
people --> people's
