Is it necessary to include a privacy policy on your website? If so, does anyone have a resource for creating one?

I have noticed more and more privacy policies added to website and there are some websites that don't include it.

Please advise.


P.S. Before I sent this post, I did some research on Google and here is a website that provides some guideslines regarding privacy policies.

I'm glad you found what you needed. I don't have my privacy policy on my website, but I do include it in my customer welcome packet.

Even though the answer was already out there, I appreciate the question because it brought the topic to my attention! There is so much in the forums that it's impossible to cover it all.

I thought it was just me. There is so much good information and I have been finding it hard for me to keep focused because I want to read everything, check out resources, and more.

This weekend is going to be my plan to put my check list in order and get focused. My thoughts are all over the place right now and I need to regroup! ;-) I'm just so excited! I'm excited about the business, this forum, and being able to reach out to a group of people who are going through some of the same things that I'm experiencing (or for those who have already experienced it!!!).

Yes thanks for posting - I was wondering the same myself since I have a form on my contact page and I know I am personally leary about giving my addy out without knowing the privacy policy, thanks for posting the previous thread!

I was just wondering this as well-- thanks for posting the link to the other thread too!

I wondered about it too, but I felt that it was important for potential clients to know I would never share any of their information before hand for their peace of mind.
