Default A great article on what to do with your 'About' page
I ran across this GREAT post on what should be done with the 'about' page on your website and thought I'd share it here - 'Facing About' <--- defiinitely worth reading, even if your website is complete - you may want to rethink that very page.

If you'd care to share a bit about what you did on your own 'About' page please reply to this post!

Great Timing!! Thanks for sharing. I'm in the process of writing my 'About' page. This will definitely come in handy.

And, It states in the article how most of us find it challenging to write about ourselves in a convincing manner - I SO AGREE, right now!!

Thanks again

Thanks, Tess. Perfect timing for this article. I just started on my website this past weekend and am having a hard time with wording.

This article has some excellent tips though I'm going to have to agree with Kena in that I find it challenging to having to come up with 'interesting' things about myself. Now I have to be convincing as well...*sigh*. I too am in the midst of writing my 'about' page - actually revamping the whole website content. Such fun. Off to the drawing board I go to create compelling content...

Great find Tess, thanks for sharing! I have bookmarked it and have now another addition to my already long To Do in 2009 list.

Thanks Tess, I'll read it this week while I'm redoing my website. I've been using Microsoft Office Live, but am now creating my own...will take me awhile LOL. At the moment my About page was written by me but edited by my daughter. It's very hard to write about yourself...

I know this will sound weird but I had my husband write mine then I went & edited some years that he had gotten wrong & such. I found it is very difficult to write about one's self so I let the person who know me best do it for me. Is this cheating?

Our writing styles are different because he comes from a legal background & I come from years of upper management arguing with each other over the correct way to do things (lol!)

It's a great article, thank you! I'm certainly redoing my About Us page now. I would like to view some examples of really great About Us pages to see the tips in action.

Please let me know if anyone has an example to share..

Janine
