Default Featuring fellow VAs on my Website
Hello, and I'm not sure this is the right spot to post this. But I recently was asked by another VA in the insurance industry if I would like to be her featured VA of the month. She will post my bio, logo, photo, etc. I think this is so incredibly cool. I like it so much that I would like to start doing the same thing.

Not that I have a whole lot of traffic to my Web site, but I feel it's such a nice way of helping ALL of us to have a bit more spotlight. It isn't all about OURSELVES all the time. Right now I can think of so many VAs I would like to showcase on my Web site.

Do any of you do this? Thank you so much for any suggestions .

Patty,

I think this is a very good idea! There is a VA (I'm sure there are others) whose site is specifically devoted to VA interviews. She offers a great service to our industry. The link to this site escapes me.

I don't do this specifically on my blog however, I have been involved on VAF in the interview here and I have (and will continue) to showcase other VAs on Business Darlings blog as it pertains to the topic of social media marketing.

None of this would have been possible if, like you, I hadn't been a part of VAF!

I would suggest that you decide what is it about the VA that you would like to discuss and tie that into your services as well as the targeted audience you want to reach.

For example, if you offer web design, then you might wish to interview other VAs who offer graphics work or photography. This keeps your blog 'centered' and builds SEO. Further you can ask questions and make comments in your blog posts which indicate you are an expert in your own field and tie those topics into the interviews.

Your own blog post might include for example, 'how to use photoshop to do something' and then you can reference the VA graphics design interview into your own blog post to support what you are instructing your own readers.

That's what I would do...but you can also, just feature VAs of all backgrounds on your blog post as well which would simply tie in the VA-concept.

Whatever you choose to do would help all around...the VA, your own blog and the industry itself.

Good Luck! Looking forward to reading your posts.

Janine

Thank you so much, Janine. I just love this idea. The more I think about it (and I have been thinking about it all day), the more I love the idea. I agree, I think it does help the industry in that we all support each other and are proud to showcase our fellow VAs' expertise in their areas. I am extremely in love with this whole thing.

I had not thought of using my blog site, but that is a really great idea. I am not a frequent blogger, but I do post a consistent article every month. Featuring a wonderful, fantastic, professional VA on my blog page each month (maybe having someone who ties into the topic of the article) is a great idea. I think I need to get to work on this right away.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Janine.

Hi Patty

Great idea! In addition to what Janine said - you can also have Virtual Assistants as guest bloggers on your site as well. Similar to interviewing them on their services that may complement your own - you can also have a VA guest blog post from time to time on a topic you may not be an expert in, but complement what you do for your clients nicely as well.

Looking forward to seeing what you ultimately decided to do!

Hi Patty,
This is definately a good idea as many people will appreciate your dedication to our industry. While we are all VAs we definately have different niches and if clients can find what they want on your site its kudos to you.
