Default Copyright Laws - Creative Commons license information
Hello Forum

While researching for client, I came across a site that I think will help some VA's with other stealing their content from their website. This an excerpt from their site about License for copyright:

All Creative Commons licenses have many important features in common. Every license helps creators — we call them licensors if they use our tools — retain copyright while allowing others to copy, distribute, and make some uses of their work — at least non-commercially. Every Creative Commons license also ensures licensors get the credit for their work they deserve. Every Creative Commons license works around the world and lasts as long as applicable copyright lasts (because they are built on copyright). These common features serve as the baseline, on top of which licensors can choose to grant additional permissions when deciding how they want their work to be used.

Read more about what this company is trying to accomplish on the web.

This is a nonprofit organization, they do accept donate, but it is free.
I will add the icon to my site, after it's revamped. This may not be for you so I advise all of you to read what's on their website thoroughly.

Hi Phyllis, thanks for sharing the info about Creative Commons here. We use this for some of our software releases and it's a common license for blogged material and many ebooks. I hadn't thought of applying it to a website, but I guess it is a kind of 'if you can't beat 'em' approach...

It's amazing, the things I find just by researching. I was looking for an articles on the penal law, after reading the article, at the bottom was this tiny button. I clicked on it and Creative Commons appeared. I starting reading, it took me 3 hours to read the site.

Yes if you can't beat them, make them give recognition for your content, pictures, graph etc. It's better to be mention instead of not begin mention for work that was created by YOU.
