Default Re: Why HTML?
HTML is a language written for computers to understand. The different HTML tags you use tell the site how you want it to look (such as colours and fonts and pictures.)

The reason why it's important to use HTML in web design is because if you don't, you'll only have a white page with text on it which isn't very attractive.

For some beginners guides on HTML, you should check out http://www.htmldog.com/guides/htmlbeginner/ and that will explain to you about what the tags mean and how to use them to build a site.

You could also use a program like Dreamweaver, or get a template to work from, but both are a lot easier if you understand the basics that go into web design.

Best of luck, and if you have any more specific problems, let me know and I'll see if I can help.
