You need to know the incoming and the outgoing servers (SMTP and POP3) which is information that typically comes from your provider. You can call them directly, check the welcome email that providers usually send when you sign on or do a search on the provider website for this information. Calling support is easier.
Then, depending upon your email client such as Outlook, you would go in and set up your email in the account information and include the outgoing and the incoming server names.
Typically, providers offer a tutorial on their site 'how to set up email' which is easy to follow. Or you can do a google search depending upon the email client you are using. Here is a tutorial from Microsoft,
