Taking HTML5 course...!
Awhile back I posted about www.Learnable.com. Well, I just signed up for my first course there to dig into HTML5! I'm pretty savvy with website coding, but I just don't have time to research and get up to speed with HTML5, so I figured for the cost of this course, it would more than pay for itself in time saved alone.

The cost, you might ask? A whopping $9.95!

The course is two weeks, but you have access to everything for a year. I'm pretty sure I can go at my own pace too, but I have to get further into it to know for sure. And the instructor dude has a really cool Aussie accent.

Hope I learn something worthwhile and didn't toss $9.95 in the toilet!

I found this under the "About":

Learnable began as a series of online courses about web development on sitepoint.com, one of the largest online communities of web designers and developers. But we wanted to go further, faster, better! And so Learnable was born.

I have heard sitepoint is supposed to be good. I will definitely check into these courses, thanks for posting.

They have courses for about everything under the sun. From learning different coding languages to the fundamentals of golf - and everything in between. Way cool, and very affordable.

I've been on the "learning" end so far, but when I have some time I'm going to create a course or two and be on the "teaching" end. Great way to make some extra cash.

That's why I love these forums - so much useful information - thanks heaps Jules! It looks like they began by doing courses on Sitepoint and have started this site to broaden the services, so that increases my confidence straight away. Looks like they have plenty to choose from. Oh dear....now to find the time!

p.s. I was stoked to find they have an Australian office and yes....our accents can be cool! Hehehehe

Cheers,
Marie

Thanks for posting this site. I needed to learn a few new things and needed to find a quality program.

I'm working through the CSS course and PHP as well as the HTML 5, the courses are from Sitepoint and really you can't beat the price. You can work at your own pace which is awesome and I find their instruction is great and easy to follow.

Might see you on the forums over there Jules!

Oh yes, most definitely SitePoint is good, Jen. I have quite a few of their books that have helped me over the years to "flesh out" my web design knowledge.

I'm also going to be doing CSS3 and php as time permits. With these courses being so affordable, how can you pass them up?

You will see me on the forums, Renee!

I love Aussie accents, Marie. The different terminology/phrases used in your country is pretty neat too. (e.g. "Who opened their lunch?" )

I was so glad to see them take their courses to a dedicated website for them. A huge plus in my book is that WE can also teach and earn money too, if we want.

I hear you on time...I started small with just one course to test the waters so-to-speak. Much fun looking at courses I want to learn more from!
