Particularly for Office Live site owners
Hi all,
Hope you may be able to help me.
I am in the process of designing my site using Microsoft Office live applications I have been progressing very well, but now I have hit a major problem.

I am trying to up load some new pages - lets call it page "A" - I get A up named, content inserted and formated, I save it and then view it on the browser and all is well. Then I do the same for another page, - page "B" - I finish this page, view it on the browser, notice that page A is gone, vanished, it is flying about in the ether somewhere but not on my site like it should be. I tried reinstalling page A then page B is gone it has been back and forth all morning.

I have my Home page, About Us page, Services page, Contacts page, and site map loaded and all is well with them. I am at a loss at what to do now.

Even if this has not happened to you please let me know, if it has how did you sort it? I have been on to the "Tips and Solutions" page for OL also posted on the OL forum but so far no response.

Vicky,

I use Office live site and have not had any problems. It sounds like the pages are not connecting. Be sure to check out the page properties when you build them to fill in the information.

You might the help desk they are really good and responsive. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

When you say you are loading new pages are you creating new sub pages? They don't show up unless click on the main tabs. I'm not sure if that answers your question.

Thanks for your responses.

Monique, i have been on to the community forums but actually not the help desks, will do that asap.

UrVirtualWiz, I am loading brand new pages. But I had problems with a sub/child page also but in the end I just incorporated it into the main/parent page.

I will try again later to see if I can do anything else with it.

Is there a possibility that for some reason it's giving your new pages the same "name" each time so it is overwriting the old page?

Would you be willing to share a link so we might see what's going on?

Hi Jeanne,
I don't think that this is the problem, thank you for asking. As the site in not completed I do not want to put the link on the open forum but if I have not sorted the problem, within the next few days, I would be grateful if I would be able to PM the link to you.
As it stands I have a few people looking at it from different prospectives, I am hoping that with all this help it will be sorted.

I have an office live question for all of you...

Do you know if I can replace the template header with my own logo? The only place I see to add a logo is of course using the logo add image button, which I did but that puts it above the header and to the left and it looks more like a business card and is disjointed from the rest of the site.
Thanks.

Yes you can.
1. Upload you Logo to your Image Gallery ensuring that it is resized correctly.
2. In Site Designer Tab (in Office Live) Click on Theme,
3. Click on Custom Theme Image, (there are not other images on this tab)
4. New, will bring you to your Image Gallery, click on your Logo
5. Then Up Load Image and your logo will be in the Custom Theme Tab.
6. Click on Theme Tab and choose you Theme

Good luck with it.

I feel so silly I found out what the problem was, eventually, I was naming the pages with the same name so they were knocking each other off. This silly mistake has put me over a week behind in getting ready to launch the site well that and another problem I had with Officelive, also sorted.

But at least I will never do that again. By making mistakes helps us remember.

Thanks for all the help.
