Default GenBook-Problem adding link to Microsoft Live Web Page
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am having a problem adding the genbook button to my website. I click on the HTML module and copy the link into it but am getting the error message below.

To make script tags using the "src" attribute work correctly when using the HTML module, defer="defer" has been added after the URL.

I have been going nuts for the past day trying to figure this out...thanks!

Hi Cathryn, I'm afraid this is an issue with Microsoft's website editor - it's a common problem with these types of sitebuilders and is not something I am aware has a remedy.

Their text editor adds 'defer' to the script for whatever reason, thus rendering it useless. There is no way to edit and remove this tag as it will be re-added each time you save your page.

Sorry I don't have better news for you on this one... you could always send a note to the MS Live people letting them know - the more people sending in complaints the more likely they are to do something to change it.

Thanks so much for your help Tess at least I know I am not crazy! I will certainly be sending them a complaint about this. It just is a constant reminder that when my year is up with them I am moving on.

Cathryn,
I often find answers to Office Live issues on their community forum. If you go to your sign in page, there is a link at the top for the community forum. Chances are someone else has asked the same question.
Good Luck!
Janine

I can tell you too that I had the same problem once trying to add Google Analytics script to the Office Live site. After researching the community forums, I found that this was not something that could be added for the errors you listed. As a result, I'm leaving Office for a more flexible site option. I ran into too many limitations but it was good for starters and found it to be one of the better free options.
