Default First CSS Webpage
I completed my first page using CSS. I would appreciate any feedback on the coding. I have checked it on IE 7 and Firefox. Which other browsers should I check it on? The store link connects to a store, but the store is still the demo store. Also, only the About link works because it is the only page that I have done other than the index page. Thanks for any feedback.

Guess it would have helped if I added the link.

Here it is.

Hi Kellie,
Good first go at CSS!
The page looks fine to me in IE7. I might suggest Safari (for Mac or Windows) and Opera if you really want to get technical (but things *always* look funky in Opera it seems.)

On thing - the logo isn't showing up - just the alt tag and little X showing an image wants to be there. All in all, so far so good (but don't forget to do major SEO on this site - it's likely a super small local niche so should be pretty easy to take the top spot for Nashville's school uniform market.)

It looks good but I would get rid of those IE conditionals you could have a stylesheet only for IE and use IE conditionals to load it in the header.

Also try adding this in your CSS:
Code:
#menu ul li a {
   padding: 2px 4px 2px 4px;
}
It will add a little padding to the links in your menu and make the links a little nicer.
This is just a suggestion and there are a lot of things that you can do.

I hope this helps

Kellie,
I happen to have Opera installed on my computer for just this purpose. Site looks good in it. I didn't see any problems. If I had my main computer back up and running I could check it in Safari for you. Maybe someone else can?

Nice job!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I haven't even started adding the SEO for this page. I just wanted to know that I was doing it right. About the IE conditionals, I wasn't sure what the best way to go was, so I just did it this way. Is there a difference, if so why is one better than the other? Every little bit of insight helps.

Wow! I love your website. Very impressive! Especially the portfolio. Are you self taught or did you take classes? If I were a client I would hire you in an instant!
