Default Figuring out what the code is
So I am slowly learning how to build a website and I am now in the stages of wanting to change some of the HTML code within my Wordpress site. I was wondering if there is a application for my browser, I am using firefox, that can help me determine what the HTML code is for something on my website that I want to get rid of. For example, there is this line at the top of my main page and I want it gone, Its light grey in color but I dont like it and I have no idea what it is called and how to get rid of it.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks!!

Hi,

Do you mean view the source code with Firefox? If so, you can use the 'View Source' under the View on the top menu.

You'll need to look for border elements in your #access div in the CSS style sheet and change it there.

You should also be making these changes in a 'child theme' of the main theme you're using, in case you update the theme in future.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Tracy

On closer inspection ... the border is on .hentry as follows:

.hentry
{
border-top-width: 1px;
border-top-style: solid;
border-top-color: #cccccc;
padding-top: 18px;
padding-right: 20px;
padding-bottom: 18px;
padding-left: 20px;
}

Cheers,

Tracy
