Default Dreamweaver Website Software
Does anyone know where you can get the website software alone? I've found that this software is highly expensive and I want to buy it...but my budget will not allow that right now . Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Kathya

Hi Kathya,
You can buy Dreamweaver by itself [outside of the CS4 package] - if that's what you mean, but yes, even by itself it's expensive (well worth the investment, and don't forget it's deductible from your small biz taxes!] BUT, have you checked out eBay?

I just saw one [CS3] full version with free shipping going for about $100 at the moment - just be careful that you investigate your seller and make sure they have a good rep for selling viable, brand new software!

There is also a free trial version from the Adobe site here.

Thanks, Tess...Yes, it's expensive but I haven't found anyone just selling the website development software--just the CS3 packages with everything. Thanks for the heads up! I'll check out ebay again!

Hi Kathya,

If using a Mac, there is a good alternative called RapidWeaver ... it was recommended to me.

Good luck ...

Kathya,

There are some interesting shareware/freeware programs available, but I can't vouch for any of them personally. Check out http://www.osalt.com/dreamweaver for a list with their capabilities.

Let us know if you find one that works really well!

I purchased mine through a student discount! Not sure if that helps, but I just happened upon the resources site of my school and took major advantage of purchasing CS4, I got it for about $300 for the whole suite!

I also got mine through an academic store online for about $200 for the latest version of DW. If you have a child in school, then you qualify. Check out www.academicsuperstore.com
