I create all my sites on Wordpress and use Artisteer to design themes. I love how flexible WP is and what you can do with it.

Did mine all myself using Drupal & one of their standard themes. Was a lot of work, but I'm quite happy with it and it's saved me a lot of money.

Wouldn't recommend it if you are new to the internet or technology. It really does help if you've had some experience with developing online content even it it was just html.

wow! Replies to this post re-confirm to me that the majority of Virtual Assistants are savvy, forward-thinking, courageous people who don't shrink away from tackling new challenges or the unknown! Feels good to be in such good company.

I also designed my own site with Wordpress, using a theme by Elegant Themes. I've modified both flash and html themes before, but never made one from scratch. I'll admit it's been somewhat challenging, but I love the ability to fine tune as I go and the flexibility of making my own design decisions. I'm mostly satisfied with the result and learn more every day.

Regarding GoDaddy, I somehow always seem to feel disappointed with their features and service. I may look into another host in the future, but you can't beat the price.

I designed my site using Dreamweaver, some photoshop and Fireworks. I have not had a chance to use wordpress yet but would like to give it a try some time. After reading through most of the postings here, it seems to me that most sites referred to in this survey were created with wordpress.

It must be a good product then!

The WordPress sites look really nice. I can see why so many use it. Thanks for starting this thread. GREAT information.

I used GoDaddy to create my website! I love it because it looks professional, it
was simple to use and I can tweak it to my liking to make it more personal.

I used one of the templates offered by Intuit. I was in the beginning stages of becoming a VA and knew nothing about coding. This process worked great for me because it was user-friendly and quick. So within a day or two my site was up. Knowing then what I know now the only change I would have made was the name, i.e., the url; it says nothing about being a virtual assistant, which is SEO101, but I didn't know that then.

I used Wordpress and got most of it set up on my own. I then hired a web designer to help with some tweaking of the site. I have been reading a lot of wordpress books from the library to help with questions I have. I'm a do-it-yourself sort of person so I want to learn as much as I can.
