Default Transcription pedals
Heya,

Does anyone know where to get transcription pedals from and also what a good brand is?
I have never done transcription before but I'm thinking of offering it as a service. After lots of practice of course.

Also, what do you think is a good price range for pedals?

TIA

Phillipa

Many years ago I bought the Start Stop Transcription Software and it came with a pedal..... although now I tend to use Express Scribe (I like the fact I can add comments to the audio files) and the pedal works with that also.

Have you tried ebay? Often a good start if you're looking for something cost effective.

Of course, you could subcontract your transcription assignments to another local VA

I bought an Infinity pedal from EBay for about $50.00 which I use with Express Scribe. Works great.

Good luck and practice/practice/practice. It is best choice to have pedals, even though you can transcribe without them.

I recently bought my Infinity USB-2 pedal through Amazon (via Image Enterprise) for a great price. It works perfectly with ExpressScribe in both Mac Leopard and Windows 7. It comes new in the box with no frills - since no software is needed. I'm old school and couldn't transcribe without it, especially on the Mac.

Thanks guys, I will have a look on eBay.

And LOL @ Bridie...my sister in-law actually has lots of transcription experience so if anyone asks for that service before I am competent I'll probably get her to do it.

Thanks for that ExecAdminAssist, I'll look on Amazon too! They usually do have good deals on there.

Does anyone know if an Olympus RS-12 Footswitch System 2000 is any good?
There's one on Amazon but it doesn't have any info on it and I can't find any anywhere else.

Not sure about the Olympus pedal, but like some of the others, I've bought an Infinity foot pedal through Amazon. I use it with Express Scribe and I'm very happy with it.
