Default Technical Issues (Again!)
Hello,

A client sent me a link to an mp3 recording that opens up in Windows Media Player. When I listen to it in this program, it sounds fine, although in areas it gets a little choppy.

Whether I try saving it as a download and then uploading it to Express Scribe or burning it to a CD and uploading it, I get the same thing--from minutes 6-12 it sounds choppy, and after that there's no sound.

I wish I could type fast enough to transcribe directly from Windows Media Player, but no such luck!

Does anyone have any suggestions of other ways this can be handled?

TIA,

SueAnne

Have you tried downloading a free file coverter tool and see if you can change it from mp3 to a different format?

TBH haven't had this issue myself but maybe worth a try.... the only other thing you could do if you've two computers (I've done this myself when a file wouldn't open for me) is play it in Windows Media and record it onto the other computer then play the recorded file in Express Scribe - hope that makes sense?

Thanks,

What I finally realized was that when I was saving the link, it was saving with the mp3 as part of the name, not the extension. All I had to do was add a "dot" before mp3 and it worked fine.
