Default Software to clear up audio recordings
Hi, everyone. I have tried Audacity and a couple other programs to try to clear up some of the bad audio recordings I receive. (These are insurance recorded statements taken over some type of phone recording system.) This is not background noise, but just a bad recording, sometimes with static, sometimes muffled (same thing you get if you're too close to a microphone when recording). There may not be any way to do this without expensive equipment/software, and if so, I'll just keep plugging along, but just thought I'd put the question out there in case someone had any suggestions. (I currently use Express Scribe. Their features don't help clear up anything either, unfortunately.)

Thank you!

I've been a fan and user of GoldWave for a decade now. I use it for all my audio-related projects.

It's very good and updates are always free, so it keeps getting better and better.
