Question Express Scribe Questions
I have a new client who uses digital dictation in his office. It's an Olympus system but I am currently emailing myself the file and using my Express Scribe. I have 2 questions:

1. I can't find a way to tell the Olympus system about my remote pedal, which is why I am using my Express Scribe. Anyone have any ideas?

2. I changed the setting in Express Scribe called "Auto Backup on Stop" all the way to 110 from the default 0 but it still does nothing. It doesn't go back at all when I stop hit stop. Is there a way to fix this? I'd like it to go back a few seconds.

Thanks!!!

Answer to number two - you're not making the number high enough. Mine is set on 2000 which is just a couple of seconds.

Answer to number one.... not sure. When I installed ES I already has this footpedal and all I did was plug it in then open up the software. Might sound obvious, but have you tried that? i.e. plug it in the USB before powering up the PC then opening the Olympus software as it may automatically "find" it.

Thanks, Bridie! I"ll try your answer for number two.

As for number one, I guess I didn't explain it right. My fault. My Express Scribe is working perfectly (except for your suggestion for number two, which I will try shortly). The Olympus software is on the client's computer. I am logging into their computer from my home office and trying to just use the Olympus software. I don't know how to get the Olympus software to recognize that I have a remote pedal. Since I couldn't get it to work, I actually emailed myself the audio file and am using my Express Scribe software here.

I hope I explained it better this time.

Thanks again!!!

Aaaah okay, gotcha!

I haven't worked with remote accessing software so can't help I'm afraid. If it were me I'd do exactly what you've done and email the audio so you can use ES!
