Default Express Scribe Issue
Hi,

Hope someone has had this issue before with Express Scribe, as I have not been able to figure it out, as my specialty is transcription, and it is driving me nuts!

I noticed that Express Scribe doesn't play my WMA files. No problem, I have a converter (IMToo) and it's easy to convert them (normally I convert to MP3, but I have found this problem with a couple other file extensions too).

For some reason, when I play them on Express Scribe, the last few minutes to 5 or 10 minutes....depending on the length of the dictation, does not play! The file time length is correct, but it just cuts off. It does play in Windows Media Player correctly and to the very end, so I know it is not the converter. Those last few minutes are a pain, having to listen to them in Windows Media Player to transcribe them. It is adding time to my transcription, and as I charge per minute, that affects my income.

Anyone have any ideas either what I am doing wrong, or maybe some settings that I have not addressed?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I just pulled up a WMA file in ES (v 5.01) and have no problems at all. My files are about evenly divided between MP3 and WMA, but I also have some AVI files that were converted from DVD's. All of these are playing great. I wish I could help you with some ideas, but I just don't know. Has it always been that way or just suddenly started?

Pam

Hi Pam, thanks for the thoughts.....yes, it's always been this way. I think I tried removing and redownloading Express Scribe already, but I think I will try it again. I thought maybe something was interfering with it, I have so much software, etc., on my computer!!!! I'll keep plugging away to try to figure it out......I did notice on the forums for Express Scribe, that others have issues with WMAs playing, so at least I know that part is not just me LOLOL
