Mine is set on 2000ms for backstep. My clients use digital dictaphones, a few use their iPhone.

Bridie, Thanks so much for sharing. I use Express Scribe a lot. I will be upgrading soon to avoid any issues.

Thanks again,

Thanks for sharing this! Since all I do is transcription I use ES all the time. I am currently using v5.01 and it's working wonders for what I need most of the time. The cost for the paid version is not bad at all, so I will be looking into that and what it offers for when I may need to upgrade, and to see if it can handle some files that have come up recently that I've had to convert before using in ES.

Patty, you said you liked Philips better. I'd love to know the differences between the two and what you find better with Philips!

Bridie, Thanks for sharing this. I'm thinking of downloading free version to try. Can you tell me if ES comes with an insert timecode option? For typing off video, scripts or just timing for jobs. I've looked at Quickscribe that does it, but I think that might be too expensive. TAFE's in Aust use Quickscribe. Have you tried it?

Hello All - I bought the bundle package (Express Scribe Pro/Pedal/Headset). The stereo sound of the headset is incredible. For you Mac users out there or whoever can answer this question - how do up upload an audio file from a web site browser ? I tried the control/click and the Save As but get message about the extension being wrong. I get this from the NCH sample audio mp3.

Yes, I found this out a couple days ago when my Start Stop system was giving me 'gip' and needed to use ES as an alternative...thanks anyway!

I don't use ES that much anymore especially since I use so many other free transcription software that I think work much better. Transcription Buddy and FTW are just a few.

Hi, I use ES all the time. For time stamps, I have it set to copy time stamp using F11, and I paste it into Word using CTRL-V. Check the settings in ES, and set the setting for hot keys. It should work. I have ES 5.32. HTH

divajant, I've never heard of those two, but plan to check them out. (I like ES, but always looking for backups or possible better ways to do things!) Why do you like them better than ES?
